Let them do it !

Once in a while China should fight the Japanese at sea, or in the air.
Now is the best time to do the fighting and defeat the Japanese.
So, China could improve its score with the Japs.

You have a nice set of blinkers to keep you from being distracted from reality!

Japan has territorial disputes with Russia, S.Korea, China ROC and China PRC. Funny how tensions suddenly escalated almost overnight when China was only involved with one of these disputes. I think it was a run up to elections in Japan at the time.

I seem to remember that it was Japan who scrambled 8 jet fighters in response to one unarmed fisheries turbopro.

Funny how the USA seems to keep cropping up with her war machines all over the place teaching allies how to fight and die for American interests.

Don't be silly! The UK just send their war machine, including missiles in stand-off fights to reduce countries back to the stone age whereas China does a bit of dangerous driving in fisheries vessels. So of course China is the agressor - the UK are just spreading humanitarian aid.... aren't they?

Lets compare how the relevant nations have acted:

China has:
-Encouraged massive domestic anger and anti Japanese feelings through state run media

-Encouraged civliians to get involved in illegally invading Japanese waters.

-Sent repeated military sorties into the area.

-Encouraged damaging economic attacks on Japan.

-Repeatedly lied about having a claim. The PRC has never had a claim to that territory.

Japan has:

-Nationalised ownership of the islands away from a property developer who wanted to develop the islands to wind up China.

-Responded to Chinese acts of aggression, many of which constitute casus belli.

I can't help but notice that you utterly failed to counter a single one of my points and instead resorted to general namecalling.

Now that's ignorance.

Knowingly stealing an island from the Chinese in the first place is an act of war - it is on record. Further, the Japanese were not awarded sovereignty over the islands at the end of WWII and if the had been awarded sovereignty then the Americans had no authority to do so and didn't consult either the Chinese PRC or ROC.

Please list the acts of war by China with regard to these islands? Please list the acts of war by Japan with regard to these islands. Put them in date order.

Claiming that the PRC never had a claim over the islands is as stupid as saying that the UK's coalition government doesn't have a claim over Scotland or the Falklands or whatever. Incidentally, the Chinese support Argentina's stance. I didn’t but the more I read then the more it appears that Argentina have a case yet the UK also believe in defending their claim with force – how the dispute arose in the first place.

But your claim that the Chinese are the only aggressive nation in the region is frankly laughable. At least they are defending their claim to sovereignty - no more or less than any other nation in the middle of a territorial dispute apart from the Americans who seem keen to foster the conflicts with the old divide and rule technique. I think it is unlikely that the Chinese will start a war over any of these islands but woe betide anyone hiding behind American skirts who gets overconfident because China will retaliate, Americans or no Americans.

The Chinese have a very valid claim over these islands. Short of war then the Chinese have to push Japan to the limit to maintain the Chinese claim since Japan won’t even acknowledge there is a dispute. However, I see nothing wrong with economic sanctions against Japan. After all, the UN applies economic sanctions agains many nations and I seem to remember that they were created for the purpose of ensuring peace rather like NATO. LOL

Actually the US had every right.

Until the formation of the UN, international law held it as legal to take and hold territory by force.

Since then only 2 nations have. China in Tibet and Israel in Palestine.

No. I'll just state that deliberately sending ships and aircraft into territory nominally controlled by another nation is an act of war. Doing so without ever attempting to resolve things legally through the UN (because you know you have no case) is even worse.

In all of history the senaku/falkland islands have never spent 1 second under the control of the PRC/argentina. The PRC/Argentina were both formed through conflict and military conquest in a civil war.

Just like with Israel and land stealing, China sides with a nation with a similar (bogus) legal stance.

Also, article ONE of the UN charter enshrines peoples right to self determination. Argentina has no case.

Feel free to mention any other nations sending their military into your territory.

If you have a case, take it to the UN. You won't however because you know international law says the same thing I do. Taiwan may have a claim but you don't want the question of Taiwan going anywhere near the UN thanks to the aforementioned article ONE of the UN charter.
