Since someone might do something illegal in your home, let's just put a camera there 24 hours a day.
You got nothing to hide, right?

There are cameras in Western countries and they can help prevent actual crime, but there is also the rule of law and due process to prevent abuses.
China is a sad lawless dictatorship and backwards police state, so this is targeted at dissidents who dare challenge the CCP slave-holders.

China has 1 CCTV camera for every 472,000 people.

The UK has one camera for every 14 people and if you live in London you are likely to be on camera 300 times a day.

Since Miro claims these are to ensure public safety then it follows that the UK must be a very dangerous place to live in comparison with China.

However, it seems that all is not right with Miro's theory that this is just about public safety because every day in the UK an average applications are made to spy on 1381 new people every day via their email and phone records - one person in 72 being officially spied on by the government under state-sanctioned surveillance under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000!!!

Could it be that these are dissidents and that there are 1381 new dissidents every day in the UK?
