What schools, factories, railroads, paved roads, airports, electrical supplies, plumbing, regular meals or warm clothing did the lamas ever provide to the people of Tibet? Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero, Zilch. At least that is what it appears to be from what know of the matter, and that brings us to the present situation. What Qin or Tang did, or Ming for that matter, is now somewhat irrelevant, it seems to me.
At any rate, it appears that this Dalai Lama was, at the time of the civil war in China, somewhat on the side of Mao. He visited Beijing and exchanged greetings and gifts.
These are one too many non sequiteurs and red herrings centred on just the one person of DL, which is sad that it reflects the only visible and longer lasting picture the world can ever have of the matter.

Time and things move on, people adapt, and issues get obscured and reversed by these unshifting and possible misleading fixations on just one person or closely related.

Because you see it 's become quite correct to compare, and excusing by reference, the Chinese annexation of or Hans migration to western parts, to other fomer colonisation efforts, only the control is more total and any comback, repercussion down the line actively preempted. What they are dealing with as a likely source of real opposition, has formed itself out of an equally dogmatic spirituality if not more.
For the communists what is worse than an emasculated half people is a martyred cause.

Meantime all that matters is in the longer time frame, say another 20-50 years when, the focal point of DL is no longer and Tibet and similar Administrative Regions are to be defined solely through the much touted social or infrastucture program in place, no more distracting talk of rebellions and robes.

All in all one is therefore enabled to seek consolation even comprehension for what must surely be another inconvenient blip in the entire pattern, in the name of a continued striving for progress, in the ever lasting hope of a perfect world that would surely come one day. Failing this, it is still the safest way to go by any measure. Pretend jocularity is the de rigeur optional extra.

You mean the Lamas contacted the U.S. CIA to fund, organize, and arm their 1959 uprising. The CIA even sent Tibetan insurgents to Colorado for parachute training.
That's one of the dissadvantages of being nice - people abuse the trust you have placed in them when they think your back is turned. Perhaps if the Tibetan upper class had looked for ways to accomodate socialism rather than seek to use killing as a solution then there would have been a more satisfactory outcome.

A lot of these guys would probably ended up as local bureaucrats in Tibet, instead of dying in exile overseas.

Religious CEO's like Dalai Lama or German Pope should bestow their attention touphold the gods which they represent.
Politics is a different sport for these pious people.

Someone named himself "global son" talking about "illegally occupied territory" - don't you guys find it illogical/funny ?
Isn't that sort of interfering in another country's affairs? And where and when have we heard that before???

If it's wont to get their knickers in a knot, they always trot out that old saw. But if it's another country (India- he isn't doing a farewell tour in Qinghai province) the boys from Beijing stamp their feet and flail their arms wildly as though doing an impersonation of an airplane ready to crash land.

I think the deli liar will maintain his "popularity" right up to the minute that people actually take the time to head what he hhas to say. Then will come a long period of laughter. You know the sort of laughter when people wake up to the fact they have been conned!

Well, many people in the west got disillusioned when other Tibetans in exile voice their discontent with Dalai Lama and his supporters.

The Dorjie Shugden monks and believers have organized series of large scaled demonstrations against the Dalai Lama amid the massive China-bashing/disinformation campaigns organized by the Free Tibet Movement and their western sympathizers last year.

The Shugdens raised our awareness about the nature of the Dalai Lama camp. If Dalai Lama and supporters acussed China that there is no religious freedom in China, why Dalai Lama takes away this very important right from the Dorjie Shugden followers, who just believe in a different interpretation of Tibet Buddhism?

They said it loud in Europe, North America, and Australia/NZ: "DALAI LAMA, STOP LYING!"

It is something that woke us up.

Anyone interested should access the website of Western Shugden Society.

Something very interesting is going to happen tomorrow. The deli liar is to visit a disputed past of India. The reason is that it is part of Tibet. So if the indian government recognises it as part of Tibet then why is it part of India? The indian government has two fces on the area. Nothing new! Go figure. Perhaps the indians here can explain why the indian government has a problem with Chinas claim (History buffs can perhaps give us the year the British stole the area.)

India has also annexed another piece of land used to belong to old Tibet - Sikkim which was a protectorate of the Chinese Ching Dynasty, and the inhabitants are Tibetans, not Indians.

Sikkim used to exist as part of old Tibet, and then was granted the right to administer its own affairs within the Ching Empire. India has taken it over after the British left India, and China was weak to do anything about it.

The history is a prove of it, and it will be.

Does anyone want to follow ?

Give that DaLIE Lama another 5 to 10 years, then he's gone. End of story.

With the amount of travels he does at his age, it just speeds up the end. Remember, he still has to fly to U.S. to see Obama in December.

You mean the "Enslave Tibet" camp, who are pushing to restore Theocracy, Feudalism and Slavery to Tibet?

You'll have a fabulous time if you're longing to see what's on offer in the sales, especially if you want to buy yourself some new clothes or cosmetics. However, you won't pay much attention to how much you're spending, and may even deliberately avoid thinking about it. Do yourself a favor and don't go overboard if you can't afford it.
