The figures are in. Jap auto sales in China dropped 60 % in September. Chinese consumer boycott is working.

Of course China can lead, and lead well.

China should be like a big brother to neighboring nations and share with it's brothers and sisters . The recent fight for resources with its brothers and sister call for a new approach. Instead of fighting on the small outcropping/ island, various countries in the are should make it a hangout spot where these nation can come together, a place of union . Various joint celebration should be launched here. The tiny outcropping / island should become a symbol of peace , unity, brotherly love , and celebration for all in the vicinity. The island should conjure up thoughts of happiness instead of hatred. No matter whic county get it, the resources will soon be used up sooner or later.

Why not make it a place where brother and sister nations in the area can meet to carry out projects that can heal the earth . We need to work together to find alternative to electricity , gas, and oil. This is a long term solution. People of the world need to make solar panels more extremely affordable . Hopefully solar energy can be a new source of energy for the general population at large. Japan is very advance in technology, China is quick in production . Let the countries in the area join hands to save the world rather harm it. Leaders are in the position to make a difference in other people's life. Those in powers should not let this opportunity to make a difference pass them by. Make a difference in other people's life give rise to great inner joy and satisfaction. A satisfaction and fulfillment that no amount of material object can bring. Let your name go down in history as someone who benefit the people of the country and the world .

If on the basis of your saying, the US won't be a qualified leader of world. It never hammers at safeguarding world peace, on the contrary, their acts aroused more conflicts over the world. You can see that in mideast and north africa, the U.S.A is like a nightmare for people there. all of acts the US did, which they did for claiming to protect peace, are for their profits such as oil, dollar hegemony, etc.
although in a manner of speaking, no absolute dedication and friendship on international relations, and finally what a nation will do is for their own profits. But nations never did like the US before----it's too failed, nearly every country will be against it.

At the moment the of the people of the world have to deal with environmental crisis and global terrorism. They are the two great threat to the peace, safety , and sustainability of the global community. Anger at each other will not lead to solution. With a cool head and warm heart we can solve the problem together.

Shouldn't China be forced into joining the free world before it's allowed to lead anything?

China has been leading the world in the last ten years not the Western Countries . If Obama gets re-elected in Nov 2012, we may have a chance to lead again. Wars does not make the USA popular we need to bring our boys safely back.

If the Dems still don't have control of Congress after November, you can say bye-bye to leading.

If China is "forced" into joining a world that you regard as free then it certainly isn't a "free" world.

Shouldn't those who consider that they live in a "free world" be penalised for forcing people to do things against their will?

I don't think China is ready to lead the world. Don't get mad comrades. It's the truth. The whole concept of not interfering with the internal affairs of other sovereign countries is completely incompatible with leading the world. You need to be way more evil and completely willing to use military force to destroy weaker countries to lead the way we lead. You need to have a thousand bases all around the world. How are you going to lead when you don't even have one? Our empire literally never sees the sun set.

You mean if they don't want to live in the "free world," just kill them all.

The military-industrial complex and food chain is causing the decline of U.S. today. Remember the naval bases closing world-wide after the collapse of the Soviet Union?

If China leads, expect peace around the world.

What is real free world? Yours? Nope, I don't think so.
theoretically, capitalism isn't superior, in the future all the world will evolve to socialism, indeed some of you have become a virtual one.
China is running an advanced social system, even though the nation isn't developed now.
We won't join your "free world", but will have you joining instead when we begin to lead world.

China by nature IS already leading the world against its own will. China still consider itself as a developing nation, and still regard th United States as the world leader. But considering its huge size, its high productivity, its population, its money reserve China can be considered as a leading nation in the world. As an Asian nation which is usually very inward looking, China DOES NOT want to be inaugurated as the world Super Power, moreover to act as world cop. China just want to grow peacefully and do the trading with all countries. China just want to be left alone and not being harrassed by anybody. China has a high wisdom, since for millenias has been a leading nation and regarded as a protactor by various surrounding countries. So, it is not strange to China to lead because of its past experiences. Their ability to manage the world biggest population itself also comes by stages in history in line with the growth of its population.
Also, it has learnt a lot from the failures of other ambitious countries who wanted to conquer or dominate the world, that all ended with doom.
That is why China is wise enough not to try to be a world leader or superpower, and better stay as a developing nation. Many other nations had a misunderstanding over China's intention and always suspicious that one day the country will invade other countries like former powerful countries did. They do not understand China and its people, who just want to live peacefully, sufficiently and in harmony.

That's nice to know since we want to be the world's super power and we want to be the world's cop. And for this reason, we can't let China grow peacefully as it will become more wealthy and therefore more powerful than us eventually. While we wouldn't attack China directly, we will definitely try to maneuver India, Vietnam, Philippines and Japan into military conflict with China.
