Maids will be history in the years ahead. Countries all over the world will be begging for maids from the Indonesians and they won't be able get it. Maybe Singapore and Malaya will export their people if they are qualified. Maids should be able to communicate effectively with their employers. I'm sure employers don't prefer Chinese or Malay speaking maids.

It is amazing that people can make such claims that makes the Indonesian Government turned RED FACE when she is not even in the league or close to it.

To qualify one to post any remark, one should take a trip to both countries and be open minded about it.

Having a large young population (like India) will not contributed much to Indonesia economy in fact in today contemporary setting a growing population may hampered the country effort at eradicating poverty or in providing clean water or food supplies.

China and Singapore efforts in controlling their population should be complimented and they were right.

Just look at Singapore per capita, it is among the highest in the world today or the size of China's GDP.

China would not have done it if she did not control her population. It is a sacrifice that is worth it, the fruit has ripened.

But off course now with a growing affluence societies, the people are also right in demanding that these imposing rule of child control should be removed and indeed the Chinese Government I read is considering it.

Indonesia does not have a population crises like China or India so Indonesia is more stable than these two countries meaning if Indonesia keeps growing at 6% or 7% Indonesia can reduce poverty faster than China or India . But Indonesias Gdp can even grow to 9% or 10% a year if it keeps modernising its infrastructure.

I wished Indonesian the best of luck as that question has been raised many years ago as far back as 10 years. The question was will Indonesia be the next Superpower in 10 years time and my response was I doubt it.

I am still doubting it as many of the major investments were in fact from China itself since China has upgraded herself from a low costing sweatshop to a higher level.
And another problems not highlighted is these capitalists will migrate once again when the labor cost goes up says to Myanmar then. Today Indonesian economy is still very commodities based. There are in fact so many problems that the Indonesia Government should be complimented for trying but it takes more than that. Easier says than done.
While Fitch predicted a 6% annual growth rate which is should be attainable in the short run and basically nothing since Indonesia is on such a low base. But to sustain that growth rate for a long period, they must have a very proactive governance which it is not.
It should be a double digit growth rate but it is not happening.
Too many politicking, nepolism and corruption beyond your imagination.

As I was saying Indonesia does not suffer from a population crises like China or India meaning Indonesias Gdp of 6% is like 10% growth for Indonesia and Indonesias Gdp will reach new heights , IMF predicts Indonesias Gdp will reach 6.8% this year and 7% next year .

I do really understand what you are trying to say in here.
As for population growth, many experts have proved thru' statistics that the lesser educated the population is, the more children they will reproduced.
That is not good as it will stress the nation resources and hamper its growth.
And unless Indonesia started off as a central planning economy meaning communism, it will be confronted by a myriad of problems.

As I says, 6~7% GDP growth are considered modest by comparison and will not significantly altered the end result. I remember back then in 1990's, China economy was vibrant and recording a double digit growth annually and hence her present position today but China was not a commodities exporting nation then like Indonesia.

Too much expectation by the people may leads to disappointment but like I says, I wished Indonesia and her people the best. People ought to have the right to live better. So a leaner population is definitely more helpful for the Indonesian planner.
