Diaoyu Islands - How is Japan reacting to China's reaction to Jap. aggression?

First, Japan was shock to see 8 Chinese administrative patrol ships which got so close to the islands.(Unprecedented in number according Japanese officials.)

In the beginning, Japan pretended not seeing the ships until Taiwan TV released a lot of picture showing how close the ships were to the islands.

Then PRC released more pictures to rebuke Japan's lies that no China ships were found.

*** In fact, a picture released by China showed that a large China CMS ship (only a few hundred meters away from the shore of an island) had launched a small boat which was travelling towards the island. The small boat was just a few meters away from the rocks.
Why would China launch a small boat which moved towards the island if China did not have intention to land on it?

*** I think China had landed on the island as symbol of going to a place under Chinese sovereignty. But China just did not want to be that explicit. I am sure the China CMS people must have gather and preserved evidence for their presence on the island.

Japan seems to be quiet and avoid this issue. This is an unusual behavior if you considered the fact that Japan has been very arrogant and provocative all these times (like rewriting textbook, denying invasion of Asian countries, denying massacres, denying the existence of comfort women, continuing to worship Japanese war criminals, and mourning the dealth of atomic bombing and criticising the bombing. Did Japan listen to its neighbours and former victims such as POWs of the allied powers?)

Japan must be in shock because it does not expect such kind of reaction from China. Finally China says enough is enough. Being too polite would create more problem for itself.

Second, in the last 2 days thousands of China mainland and Taiwan fishing boats went to the wasters of Diaoyu Islands for fishing (right after the moratorium imposed by China expired on Sept. 16).

The stormy weather and waves prevented the fishing boats to get closer to the islands.

About last night, such fishing boats got very closer to the islands.(700 fishing boats were reported by Japanese sources).

Despite Japan's belligerent statements about sending more coast guard ships (such as 50 more new ships), and even its navy to Diaoyu waters, it basically took no action to stop the China patrol ships and the fishing boats.

The China CMS and Fishery Administration patrol ships (14 in total) went in and out the sovereign waters of Diaoyu Island at will. Japanese coast guards and planes harrassed them, but Chinese ships will do the same to warn the Japanese ships away.

Nothing is done by the Japanese on the 700 Chinese mainland and Taiwan fishing ships. The reason given by Japanese officials for inaction is that the 700 ships were not within the sovereign wasters of Diaoyu Islands.

Can you trust Japan? We all know that Japanese coast guard ships were brutal. In the past, they would expel Chinese and Taiwan fishing boats in neighbouring waters whenever China and Taiwan patrol ships were not present there.(If they saw China patrol ships around, they would behave differently.) Fishermen were harrassed and captured, and their boats sunk. The Japanese would not care how far you are from the islands. As soon as you tried to fish near the islands they would chase you away or their ships will hit your smaller fishing boats. They never have any problem doing just that.

Why the Japanese are so polite this time?

They are dumbfounded by China's reaction and still in shock.

In this case, the outcome is a big surprise!

In the beginning, Japan (because of its miscalculation of China) it stirred up this trouble relentlessly. It is very aggressive and arrogant, and that is because Japan believes USA will back up militarily its move of challenging China.

On the other hand, just as usual China wants to maintain a peaceful environment for its economic development and wants all trouble to be resolved diplomatically. China in the past had put up a lot of injustice imposed by other countries.

But at this time, China has no more room to give in. It cannot remain silent. It reacted courageously despite the threat from the USA which Japan often relies on.

Surprisingly, Japan does not know how to react to China's actions of self-protection.

Japan bullied China all the time, and when China got angry, Japan cannot do anything else except to shut up and watch China's actions on the side.

Japan has exposed itself to be only a paper tiger. So has USA.

After this confrontation, Japan has shattered the farcade of effective control over the islands which are basically uninhabited baren rocks.

China, without using its navy, will patrol the islands on an ongoing basis with CMS and fishery ships and even will have ship stay there all the time. Japan will need to continue to put up with it.

This has set the stage for the return of the islands to the Chinese mainland or Taiwan. This event has marked the change control over the islands.

Japan loses big time. Its threat of teaming up with USA to go again Russia and China won't work from now on.

So the belligerent countries such as the Philippines and Vietnam should see it clearly. They should know by now how committed China is to protect its own territories, and how reliable USA is as a ally. Hillary Clinton and Obama try hard to get these countries into conflict with China, but will not support them when they are in need of help. A usual US behavior (as shown in Vietnam war, and other conflicts).

Good job, China and Taiwan!

Looks like China is reacting to Japan's controlling the Chinkaku...

China will never be able to take over or control anything that is being controlled by the Russia, Japan, U.S and British....if you look at Hong Kong and Taiwan.....

China is dreaming!!!!!!!!!!

One Japanese did beat 10 Chinese during WW2 - If US did not bomb Japan and save China, Beijin could belong to Japan now.....

China was so lucky that Japan only kept Chinkaku!!!!
