If the animals are going to be slaughtered anyway it's a good idea to make some money out of it and if we can export kangaroo rather than cow or sheep which require a lot more effort to farm, then that is cost effective and better for the environment too.

Agree, but it shouldn't be a problem in china, they don't usually eat a big fat steak like we do, they usually cut meat into small piece and use it more for flavour.

I was there in '74 while based on Okinawa. Our unit was the artillery support for a Battalion Landing Team being sent on regularly scheduled "float". That is we go aboard ship and sail to several different countries/ports over a 3-4 month time frame and train with various allied forces for a few days at a time at ea ch new country. We saw the Phillipenes,Korea,Austrailia,H ong Kong,to name a few. It boils down to a few days of excitement between long sessions of sea borne boredom. Still liked it tho.

Get in touch with the right "Chinese Communist Party Official" and slip him the right size "red envelope" and you could import Australian roadkill of any kind and sell it everywhere in the markets in China.

That's why after ten years of poisoned children, the Chinese baby formula market is still selling poison baby formula.

Get it?

You can do ANYTHING to the people of China if you make the right size deal with the right "Chinese Communist Party Official"!

Hell, they've been selling cooking oil scooped from sewers since the days of Mao!

Not quite right mate, the three top executive of “ Sanlu “[ the company making the poison milk] were tried, found guilty and executed by firing squad in a town call Shijiangzhou. It's actually western companies that have been promoting this shit in china to people who don't know any better and the chinese government has been trying to clean it up.
It wasn't that long ago “Nestles “ were found guilty of selling “ condensed milk”[that sugary milk flavoured rubbish ] as baby formula in the filipines.
But you are right about corruption, grease the right palm and you can get anything done in china.

Sorry mate, but Communist regimes always execute scapegoats. The problem remains in spite of that.

Curious how NOT ONE of the State-Owned milk producers found to be selling poison or useless baby formula was punished in any way, eh?

Further, every Chinese with family in China with children I know is sending milk from Western companies there by post!

THEY KNOW China-sourced is poison and Western companies reliable because publicly accountable.

Nope, the two Sanlu bosses got death sentences, but might be only doing life. You're right about the Chinese desperate for Western baby food though.
Anything they can fake is faked. Tried buying house paint there? It's watered down at every stage of the supply chain so in the end it's just coloured water.

Ha Ha!

Have you heard about the "soy sauce" made from human hair swept up from the floor at barbershops in CCP China and soaked in solvent and then watered and salted, and sold in groceries?

YUUUK!

The real problem is that in a state-run communist enterprise, production volumes to meet the "plan" are the only concern. Quality is irrelevant and safety as well. Old habits die hard, and China is still stuck in the "happy with crappy" system the CCP has built.

A lot doesn't mean in one gaggle. When you fly over terrain in a chopper you cover a lot of ground and see many critters in a short time.
