http://www.thejakartaglobe.com/news/world-ban... Impressive but still there is much to be done for Indonesia to become a global power ,first Indonesia needs to narrow the gap between the rich and poor and then to strengthen Indonesias military capabilities .

I'm just trying to prove to the Chinese that China is not the only country advancing in Asia and its attempt to dominate Asia is futile .

And I am trying to prove to you that Indonesia is not the only country advancing in Asia. In fact all of them have got positive GDP growth, especially Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos, with lots of support from China. Without China and its huge middle class population which created a huge regional market, the growth in Asia will not be that spectacular, and that is a fact. Before the emergence of China, all Asian countries were at the mercy of the American, they have no voice, now they do because the regional market is huge and strong.

In Asia, we want to progress together, and not pit one against another like what the American did to middle east and the rest of the world. You are a muslim? You should know better.

China is the source of problems in Asia by claiming territory from its near neighbors .Do you think the rest of Asia should just submit to Chinas will and let China walk all over them ? I think not .

It's a territory dispute...and must be sort out peacefully among the Asian countries involved. Just because China is the strongest militarily does not mean it is in the wrong. It simply has the military might which lead to a perception of assertive but so far it is still open to talk with the parties involved.

It also does not mean that just because Philippines is the weakest, it can cry bully and expect sympathy from others. Don't expect an adult to give in to a child just because the child has an unreasonable demand backed by a mother who does not discipline him, for that the child will be spoilt.

Of all the parties involved, only China and Vietnam have legitimate claim based on history. Philippines is the loudest and want the islands just because they are close enough. Both Malaysia and Brunei are committed to working with China and Vietnam for a peaceful resolution.

Lets learn about ugly wars history of Indonesia!

Secretary of Defense William Cohen at a press conference, January 1998

after meeting with Indonesian President Suharto who was responsible for the deaths of 500,00 - 1,000,000 following his US-sanctioned coup against Indonesian President Sukarno in 1965, and the deaths of 200,000 during Indonesia's US-sanctioned invasion and occupation of East Timor in 1975

Indonesia plays a key role in maintaining regional stablity. It is a leader in ASEAN and is a fundimental force for peace and properity ... We did not have a discussion about East Timor.

May 1990, States News Service released a study in Washington by Kathy Kadane

Noam Chomsky, Year 501, p131

The U.S. government played a significant role [ in the 1965 Indonesian genocide by Suharto] by supplying the names of thousands of Communist Party leaders to the Indonesian army, which hunted down the leftists and killed them... As many as 5000 names were furnished to the Indonesian army, and the Americans later checked off the names of those who had been killed or captured.

Former UN Ambassador Daniel Moynihan in his memoir of his years at the United Nations

where he describes frankly his role as Indonesia invaded East Timor in December 1975

Noam Chomsky, Deterring Democracy, p200

Within a few weeks some 60,000 people had been killed, 10 percent of the population, almost the proportion of casualties experienced by the Soviet Union during the Second World War.

The United states wished things to turn out as they did, and worked to bring this about. The Department of State desired that the United Nations prove utterly ineffective in whatever measures it undertook. This task was given to me, and I carried it forward with no inconsiderable success.

John Pilger, The New Rulers of the World, p17

A 'model pupil of globalisation' was the last of many laurels the World Bank bestowed on Indonesia under Suharto.

[In]1998, General Suharto was forced to resign after thirty years as dictator, taking with him severance pay estimated at $15 billion, the equivalent of almost 13 percent of his country's foreign debt, much of it owed to the World Bank.

American investigative journalist Kathy Kadane revealed the extent of secret American collaboration in the Indonesian massacres of 1965-66 which allowed General Suharto to seize the presidency. Following a series of interviews with former US officials, in 1990 she wrote:

The New Rulers of the World, John Pilger, p32

They systematically compiled comprehensive lists of communist operatives. As many as 5,000 names were furnished to the Indonesian army, and the Americans later checked off the names of those who had been killed or captured.

Robert Naiman

Toward Freedom magazine, November 1999

When the IMF and the World Bank force a country to cut wages, lay off workers, produce for export instead of their own people, and sell off public property to cronies for less than its vallue, that's called "economic reform.

FYI: World Bank, IMF,... are US apparatuses. If country don't pay up they will sent in he Military.

Every Tom, Dick and Harry is a superpower wannabe nowadays.

The Japs were touted as the next new kid on the block back in the 1980s but it never happened.

Indonesia is far behind the Japs and it takes more than a few positive economic indicators to make a country a superpower candidate.
Same story with India, Brazil and South Africa.

China is different because of all the countries on earth right now, China is the one with destiny's mandate.

All the others are wannabes who can't digest the fact that they are not the real MCoys.

They're more likely jealous murdering scum who wouldn't hesitate to murder and rape members of an ethnic minority who have no means to defend themselves. You call that brave?

Power does not come from being violent, Good Muslims do not encourage terrorism and should return to what we do best, i.e. trading. Persian, Indonesian, Chinese, Malaysians, Dutch, African all have been trading for centuries and we should promote that, not jeopardise it.

Good Muslims stick to facts, you should not make up rubbish and commit terrorism at the same time.

Allah said "It is only those who believe not in the Ayah (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, who fabricate falsehood, and it is they who are liars"

You as a Muslim should stick to his teachings.
