My Peace with Racism in America. My Peace with White America:

After giving much thought and consideration to the issue of perpetual racism against the Chinese in America I have come to the following realization. The real enemy is not "racist attitudes" prevalent among the majority of White Americans against the Chinese - which is both unavoidable and understandable. The real cause of racism against the Chinese is the corruption and weakness which plagues our beloved Ancestral Motherland - Zhonghua. Why did our forebears leave the homeland for foreign western lands to become cheap railroad laborers in America? Why are we Chinese still leaving China for the western countries today? Because of the same damned fundamental societal problems of yesterday! Because of the lack of economic opportunity in a corrupt China under the terrible yoke of feudalism! Because of the corruption which continues to plague the New China! If our homeland was not plagued by terrible corruption and innumerable other grave social evils - why would ever leave it?!(only to face discrimination in the foreign western countries?)

The only way for us Chinese to obtain true equality and respect in the world is to overcome the problems on our Chinese Mainland. To see a strong and reformed China which enshrines the rule of law. Reform and Democracy must be initiated by the Chinese and the Chinese people alone, it must never contain any element of western interference (given the great historical injustices and humiliations of the past). I personally believe the Revolutionary Principles of our Founding Father Dr. Sun Zhongshan can be the basis of reform and a strong rejuvenated Zhonghua. Once the social evils which plague our Chinese Mainland has been corrected, then there will no longer be any need to emigrate to the western countries to face racial discrimination. The enemy is not a Racist America at all! The enemy is the social evils which plague our Ancestral Motherland!

The Success of China is the 21st Century will ultimately not be measured by her GDP/PPP but rather on the metric of whether our Chinese People still seek to emigrate to the foreign western nations? Only when the Chinese people no longer have need or desire to emigrate to western nations will have China have achieved true success in the world! I believe that all Overseas Chinese and Chinese American communities have a duty to bring constructive and positive change to their ancestral homeland. Overseas Chinese Americans played a pivotal role in Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Chinese Revolution who personally made the statement: "Overseas Chinese is the Mother of Revolution!" Chinese Americans raised thousands of dollars to fund Sun's revolution! The Overseas Chinese have a civic and moral duty to help bring positive change to China. Simply coming to America to merely "get rich" and obtain "happiness" is in the final analysis completely and utterly worthless!- like perishable cake which soon rotes!`

We must do everything to hasten the glorious day when we Chinese no longer have any need to emigrate to the foreign countries! When China is free and strong with the rule of law!

Relax. Chinese have been migrating overseas for over 1,000 years, but their numbers overseas are just 3 % of the total Chinese population.

They have been migrating overseas because they faced great injustice at home. Under the rule of the evil corrupt Qing government, the Chinese people were reduced to serfdom. The Chinese people hostile foreign imperialist powers (Great Britain and 8 Western nations waged war against China, their aim: they turn China into a colony just like Africa). Instead, they ultimately settled for the "Open Door Policy". Even so, China was still divided:

- Shandong Province was seized by Germany and then acquired illegally by Japan with the Hanjian Beiyang government of the two-faced Yuan Shikai.
- Hong Kong, likewise illegally seized by Great Britain.
- Manchuria, under Russia-Soviet/Japanese dominion.
- Outer Mongolia; Chinese territory seized by Soviet Union.

This is the final testament of our Father Dr. Sun Zhongshan:

"For forty years I have devoted myself to the cause of the National Revolution with but one end in view, the elevation of China to a position of freedom and equality among the nations. My experiences during these forty years have firmly convinced me that to attain this goal we must bring about a thorough awakening of our own people and ally ourselves in a common struggle with those peoples of the world who treat us on the basis of equality.

The work of the Revolution is not yet done. Let all our comrades fellow my Plans for National reconstruction, Fundamentals of National Reconstruction, Three Principles of the People, and The Manifesto of the First National Convention of the Kuomingtang, and strive on for their consummation. Above all, our recent declarations in favor of the convocation of a National Convention and the abolition of unequal treaties should be carried into effect with the least possible delay. This is my heartfelt charge to you".

Dr. Sun Yat-sen sought to create a revitalized and rejuvenated Zhonghua so that the Chinese people might enjoy equality among the nations, and will not longer be forced to live as 2nd class citizens (Segregated China Towns...etc) in foreign lands.

I would suggest you stop dreaming and go visit mainland China sometimes. You'll find here that most of Dr. Sun's dream of a strong, united, prosperous China have been realized already.

There are still more people living in poverty in China than the entire continent of Africa but for people who spent most of their lives in mud huts like Ray, suddenly they feel prosperous.

We need a rejuvenated and prosperous Zhonghua. Not violent revolution or overthrow of the state system. Incremental change and stable growth not violent civil unrest. Liu Xiaobo, Chai Ling, Wan Dang types are Hanjian western puppets. Chinese problems require Chinese solutions not western ones.

The greatest enemy and challenge for China is winning the fight against corruption. The social evils on the Chinese Mainland must be corrected. China must correct the serious corruption and social evils by strengthening her existing socialist legal system and creating robust system of intra-party democracy and intra-party checks and balances. China does not need a competitive 2-party system sharing power in turn. Liu Xiaobo needs to understand that a western style party system could wreck total havoc on China. It could bring undesired unrest to Xinjiang, Tibet, Inner Mongolia. Western style multi-party political campaigning would not work for China. It would tear the country apart.

China can create a prosperous and disciplined system of government without adopting the neo-liberal model of western democracy. Intra-party democracy, intra-party checks and balances is not just a catchword, it can work in reality to fundamental improve and streamline China's system of governance. Neo-liberal western democracy is not a magic pill - just look at India! With a society far more corrupt. China will follow her own course.

RayH what about Outer Mongolia? The Soviet Union carved out Sovereign Chinese territory and turned it into a Puppet State. Both President Jiang Jieshi and Chairman Mao were coerced into giving up Outer Mongolia.

Without Outer Mongolia - China resembles a chicken!

I do not like the Qing Dynasty one bit - but the territories of the former Qing Dynasty should be ceded to modern China as the successor state - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qing_Dynasty - see the map of China with Outer Mongolia included.

You live in a fantasy world, Bill-tard. Taiwanese factories propping up Shenzhen is "past tense." It's now 2014 and Shenzhen's economy today runs on its service sector.

Mainland China's manufacturers are expanding overseas too. You would expect that as China becomes the world's largest developed country in the next few years. The lower end manufacturing countries would be exporting to the world's largest consumer market--China.
