Communist countries are not like Thailand or Philippines, in which many just love American style freedom,-in contrast with mass endoctrination and "education" practices to control public minds/opinions from "State orthodoxy " sways away. Anyhow, they also tried to be relaxed. As far as internet access is concerned, many persons in Western democracies are still even reserved for the following reasons:
-Nobody knows who owns internet system. It appears it belongs to a private corporation but about two years ago it was internationally agreed that the Internet system is rather of the U.S. nation as a result of a multi-nation conference.
Does it mean also a tool of U.S government espionage against possible terrorist plots of all kinds ?

-Efforts to standardize rules and laws in public interests were cut short, thus leaving the system less public government regulated at least as far as other countries are concerned.

-Therefore it is understandable that Cuba limits access to Internet system but anyhow one has to recognize that its civil usefulness is limitless. The point is how to make its use/presence safe, useful and civil against politic and other overlucrative exploitations.

-As communists might revamp their societies toward more democracy , they might be able to devise an alternative Internet system . But from now to that day, what sacrifices the overprivileged class in Cuba or other still rigid regimes would need to do in a still overwhelming mercantile world ?
