Is There a Cure for Cuba?

So where is the change with Raul? Nothing is changing for the best in Cuba. Same old policies, different tyrant.

Not this successful group
Mariel Cubans As Castro realized the international press had shifted attention away from the Cuban exodus and toward the United States, he began to send criminals, high-risk patients and the mentally ill to our shores. The INS detained prisoners, further straining federal resources. “There is evidence that the Cuban government exported these undesirable elements to the United States in a calculated effort to support a propaganda contention that all of those Cubans who have come to this country are undesirable,” said Carter in 1980. The state of Florida was especially taxed as the exodus reached a crescendo in 1980. Even today, lingering reminders of the Boatlift remain. Many Marielitos have become productive U.S. citizens — ONE even joined the Coast Guard for a stint. But the criminals and mentally ill patients Castro sent to U.S. shores was an unprecedented act by a THIRD World country. In 1987, at Oakdale, La., Cuban refugees set the Detention Center ablaze. Hostages were taken and Cuban prisoners at the Atlanta penitentiary repeated the scene as they set the prison ablaze and took 75 guards and employees hostage. More than 10,500 Marielitos were convicted of crimes after arrival — more than one hundred of them for homicide. Each time deportation of these particular Marielitos was negotiated, the reaction was severe including fires, rioting and the murder of hostages. But for the men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard, the Mariel Boatlift remains the most dramatic international event involving thousands of hours worked, the largest call-up of reservists in peacetime, and an extraordinary challenge on our U.S. Coast Guard resources. |

Mariposa, we are very happy about your visit to see Pepi. I hope you bought some protection as Pepi is not positive like you. Also, be very careful coming back as being an American it is forbidden to spend money to help Castro and his regime. That would be hypocritical to help the regime you hate? |
|
Cameron, I thought there was no good news from Cuba? Here you are promoting two Americans the Faux Doctor and the black gay car wash Balsa Boy both on illegal trips to Cuba. |

What is good news for me, I am sure is bad news for you. But leave it here Tin Head. As I said before is good news. Cameron |
You all seem very angry, is this a product of the society you live in ? i can accept that i live in relative luxury, but i also accept that it comes with a price, the price is the systematic opression of "3rd" world contries and has been built on slavery of one kind or another for the last 4oo years..... i would like our system to change....you seem to live a very blinkered life..open your eyes and see what has been achieved in Cuba....i see what is wrong but they have a far better chance of reaching true democracy than you or i do my friends..x |
|
|
May i also add that i do not hate America or Americans, i have visited your beautiful country and have nothing but respect for it...but come on George W Bush......get real, the man is deranged. America is run in the same way all capitalist countries are. They keep the carrott dangled in front of us all, to ensure we never stop working and buying, buying and working....we are gonna consume this planet and god help anything that gets in our way....p.s i'm no hippy!

WE JUST DONT CARE FOR WOMEN"
AFTER ALL THIS B.S.AGAINST YOUR 'OWN' COUNTRY ,DO YOU STILL DARE TO CALL YOURSELF AN 'AMERICAN'?WEIRD..REALLY WEIRD Lazero, what are you saying hermano? Do you not read, are you are dense as Marie who has lived here for fifty years? Are all those anti HIV drugs making you senile Buddy. I read they are very toxic. Is being a black gay Cuban refugee and being rejected by your peers in Miami finally got to your reasoning? Do you want to show the world why Castro saved the best and shipped the rest? The poster is from England and he see's the US from a European standpoint. Democracy is not solely American it is all shapes and forms all over the world? Hermano, please get an education while you are in rehab in Puerto Rico! |
|
Demodem, Lazero is also not an American by birth. He came here on the second crime wave from Mariel. He is a rarety here as he is a black Cuban. He could not stay in Miami because the white Cubans dislike the black ones. He moved to Puerto Rico where he was accepted. He has a job in a car wash and a boyfriend so he should be happy living the American dream. Up the Baggies! |
