Romero Barcelo always said he NEEDED that extra security. Only HE knew what he was likely to say. As a former banker I assure you one has to say something pretty insulting to get beaten and hospitalized by a banker.

Who is the Puerto Rican banker who punched former governor Carlos Romero Barcelo requiring him to go to the hospital? What did Romero say? Was the banker a Republican or a Democrat? A member of the New Progressive or Popular Democratic Party?

Carlos Romero Barcelo is a top notch lawyer. Can we bank on Carlos suing the banker? What a scandal!

I am traveling to Puerto Rico in April to visit a friend for the summer. She lives in Ceiba and said it is a safe place. Im trying to find out because I have read many articles concerning the crime rate and now reading about a former politician being assaulted rises some concerns. I heard that San Juan is ok to visit in the day time but not at night.

Who is the gentleman in the photo that accompanies this story? I know it is not Carlos Romero Barcelo unless he lost weight and had a face lift. Could it be a photo of rollingthunder?

Very Observant on the Pic! He is Paulo Cohelo. I actually posted the pic to see if another person would notice the mistake and comment. After receiving a comment from Viroslaf Vitous or whatever he may call himself I was bound to actually post a topic. He had made a comment about my collquialisms and distintions in my writing format however never answered my question back. I dont mind being foolish at times however I believe he took me for a fool.
I believe we both know what group he belongs to!
Thanks on the Congrads!

What counts the most is that YOU DO NOT THINK THAT YOU ARE A FOOL. I would be very unhappy if I tried to lived my life on other people's terms rather than on my own terms. It is important that you like (love) yourself. Your friends will accept you if you are true to yourself.

Ignore the trolls .... You can never win with them. I know from experience, especially on Topix.

Believe it or not, Raymond Molina, who punched Carlos Romero Barcelo had participated that morning in a Senate ceremony recognizing several dozen businessmen selected by the San Juan Star for its Merit 2007 award.

It is understand that he's over seventy years of age.

There is a question about whether the comment was about Bush or had to do with the Bay of Pigs. I did not have my San Juan Star delivered yet this moring. I was hoping to read about it in the STAR.

Exactly who is Raymond Molina who punched Romero?

Did it have something to do with the "Bay of Pigs"?

It is understand that he's over seventy years of age. There is a question about whether the comment was about Bush or had to do with the Bay of Pigs.

Is the Raymond Molina, who punched Carlos Romero Barcelo, the same Raymond Molina mentioned in the July 23, 1998, story in the Miami Times or a relative?- Check link below...

Also, check out the link for "Bay of Pigs Vets Fight for Home - Betrayed by the U.S. government and their own country, they want to be remembered."By Janine Zeitlin Published: January 17, 2008 - Miami Times.

Quote from the 1998 Miami Times story:

"...Several creditors are also searching for the enigmatic Mr. Molina. He failed to pay the last month's rent,$700, for his campaign office at 3383 NW Seventh St., according to building manager Armando Rodriguez: "He told me he would come back to pay but he never did." Eladio Jose Armesto, publisher of the Hispanic weekly El Nuevo Patria, said Molina owes him $3000 for advertising and consulting: "He made promises that he would pay me next week, then the week after, then he would tell me that

his brother in Puerto Rico was sending him some money.

My attorney wrote him warning him that we might take it to court, but we are still waiting..."

The the famouns Cero Marvilla Speech on July 25, l978 claiming the murderers of those two jerks were Terrorists and proclaimed the Cops as Heros.....it was a freaking television tower....

They surrendered peacefully and yet were shot down like a bunch of stray dogs......Romero Barcelo & Hernandez Colon in their 20 years in Fortaleza have divided this Island into a trech war fare and never recovered.......

They were excellently replaced with the likes of Rossello, Sila Calderon adn this Bimbo Acevedo Vila......Puerto Rico will never have peace in this Century....

We live in a nation of laws. Because we do not agree with someone, we do not have a right to punch them brutally in the eye and cause serious bodily injury and suffering. Almost every citizen accepts this reality. It is basic to law and order and a democratic society.

How can someone of reasonable intelligence say "bravo" to another person hitting someone because they do not agree with them? Is this the kind of criminal behavior that he teaches his grandson? As a German Jew living under Hitler, how can he endorse brutality of one person against another? Did he not learn from his experience of living in Germany under Hitler?

Carolo Romero Barcelo will hit Raymond Molino with a enormous law suit and will win. I hope he sues Molino for millions. He will win.

Shame on a German Jew endorsing brutality and not following the law. What motivates this kind of undemocratic thinking... stupidity or hate...?

"Harry Craig" of Topix -- check out your postings. You are the one that always gets personal. You brought up Vendig Street and the Gay stuff on this thread. I did not. You can not argue the points of an issue. On post after post, you bring in that I am gay and want to go to Vendig.

You are a spoiler as most trolls are on a blog.

Before you started posting on this thread, I never once mentioned or even hinted at being gay.

Then Topix's Harry Craig --- the one always using the word "crap" --- starts posting. Does he discuss the issues of the topic? No he calls me a "woman" -- brings in Vendig, then one personal inaccurate attack after another...etc., etc., etc. Howver, you are too blind to see yourself for what you really are.

Then, you say I took control of Topix. We were doing quite nicely in our discussions until you arrived with your stupidity, prejudices, and insults. You spoil every thread on Topix with your sickness.

Your brother is gay which means the gay gen is in your family. Careful ...you may discover that a younger generation has the gene and will come out of the closet during adulthood. It has happened many times...

By the way, Carlos Romero Barcelo is on a way higher plane of honor and respect than Topix's Resident Harry Craig... He would not want to be in the same room with Topix's Harry Craig

For those who do know Spanish and not willing to learn..I posted this in two languages for the ugly tourists in Puerto Rico for over 20 years....

Ex Governor of Puerto Rico, Carlos Romero Barcelo, underwent surgery at San Jorge Hospital after receiving a "sucker punch" in the face causing injuries to his nose, eyes and his forehead.....he was wearing eyeglasses during the incident.

The breaking of the breaking and shattering of the eyeglasses left residues of glass in one of his eye and suffered a broken nose stated Melinda Romero to the Associated Press....

The person identified as Raymond Molina who was visibly upset over comments made by Romero Barcelo on President George W. Bush..

Police Superintendent Pedro Toledo identified the aggresor as only a Banker and there was no charges filed at this time.

Certain details of the incident revealed that Molina made a gesture towards Romero Barcelo that was incriminating and Romero and afterwards, Molina threw the "sucker punch".

The President of the Senate, Kenneth McClintock that the agression on the Ex Governor was just another example of how violent this Society has become...

"En Puerto Rico tenemos la tendencia de que, en vez de pegar el freno, tocamos la bocina, de que a la menor provocación tiramos el puño en vez de darle la espalda a las personas que entendemos que nos están faltando el respeto", expresó.

McClintock added that we have the tendency instead of avoiding incident and "putting on the brakes", any incident no matter how insignificant, we resort to violence instead of turning away and avoiding any disrespect.

Political themes and arguments whether National or Local, this Society have engulfed themselves in a passionate aggression and gives no space to avoid incidents and ultimately, become violent and physical aggression..

Yes...we are a Nation of Laws!!!
