They don't pay income taxes and can't vote..... But the Defeatocrats want to give them a tax refund for which they had NOT paid anything. Sounds like vote buying to me. Also sounds like parasite foreigners to me!!!!

All of our troops spending money in these countries, protecting them and paying rent etc and they act like they are doing us a favor. I say pull those bases and let Muslims or dictators like Fidel Castro have them. Guam and Puerto Rico are Welfare societies we have created. And Cuba is waiting to become one too with the exile community in Miami as it's leaders!

Not rocket science.. But the typical libtards quickly stray from FACTS when they are confronted wiht them. Saying ignorant things like: Haters Racists Neo-Cons "Insert ignorant comment here.." How can they be so ignorant and brag about it??

Although we don't pay federal taxes as Mrs. Brown-Waite says, we have been there defending the democracy. That is the reason that you "Real American" can write from your home. We were at Vietnam and we lost a batallion, we already lost 68 persons at Irak. After all you also are "foreigners" since you invade the US from Europe and displace the indians that were the Native People of your state. As you can see history is cruel, at the end, we are all foreigners........

PS They already get to much federal aid as it is!

Cut Puerto Rico free so they can "flourish" under their Hispanic culture that they are so proud of. You have to pay taxes before you can get a rebate, other wise it is a gift, and I'm tired of giving.

Dont Give them the Money
|
Simple- if you pay federal income tax, then you qualify. If you don't, then you don't. That should be the only qualifier. Not whether they've had an air base for 50 years, or whether their citizens have come here in droves and turned Orlando and New York into little PR's. If you pay, you qualify, if not, quit being so damned sensitive, you don't qualify.

My tax money
|
All this drama and the stupid comments. Come on PR's- it doesn't matter if you've fought battles and lost battalions. THAT'S NOT THE POINT! I am so sick and tired of people standing there with their hands out, palms up, and their MOUTHS open crying about their "entitlement". In this case, it is about paying taxes and getting a rebate from that. Why is that so hard to understand?? Oh yea, go back to the hand out, palm up, open mouth part. My tax money going to people who aren't United States citizens and who don't pay taxes. Go figure. Where does this compute?????? Stop confusing issues people.

Typical Slantinel reporting, pandering to hispanics, one sided argument, telling readers what they should think and digressing from the real story.
The real story being should people who have NEVER paid a single dollar in Federal income tax be recipients of a Federal tax rebate. Borwn - Waites was correct in her challenging this rebate to Puerto Ricans living in Purto Rico.
Looks like any rational human would say no, you cant get a rebate if you didnt pay anything in the first place. But then again I didnt take hispanic logic or liberal governmnet economics in college either.

Times are slowly deteriating. Money is becoming a bit scarce. At least in lending circles. Since that last link to gold was cut in the early 70's, our nation has prostituted its foundation to everyone who has a complaint. Instead of cleaning up wrongdoings of our past with honor, ours who were privilidged and those who were not included , we "pay" people to do what they want under a massive guilt umbrella. Four decades of this is coming home to roost. Because of the economic issues, people blame each other. The people in Puerto Rico must make up their mind in what they want.

As I file Federal tax return, I sit amazed that the ignorance of the vocal uninformed netizens who seem to believe that all residents of Puerto Rico don't pay federal income tax.
Sadly, that is incorrect, as I'm sitting on the beach in San Juan with tax papers and receipts in hand, all of which go to the federal government.
However, you are free to believe as you already do. It is your right. However, keep in mind that there is a sizable minority of Puerto Rican residents who do pay federal tax directly(on top of the extremely high state tax) as well as an even larger majority that pays it indirectly through the PR revenue offices contributions to the federal reserve.
