It needs to be done. We have enough hogs slopping at the trough that are elected without having to pay for cushy lifetime appointments to Cabinet without you or I having any say whatsoever.
And as far as recent history goes, the Senate is a joke. Chronic absenteeism, endemic swindling, ridiculous pensions for doing much of nothing except thinking up new ways to sneak some sand in the ol' K-Y before bending us over, and we get to pay for that shit?
And I thought elected officials were supposed to be the corrupt sacks of crap.

Way to go Pamela, Marc, Mike and a litany of others before you. Way to help hopefully pave the way for the Senate's abolishment.
