Maybe the scientists should talk to some survivors. All survivors I know have had a difficult time with their abuse. If they think talking to the child about the abuse and hearing what they have to say is sufficient...they're ignorant. Most children have been groomed and led to believe that their abuse is normal and not that bad, or that it's their fault. When they grow up and ralize that this abuse has permeated every corner of their mind, then maybe they can truly express and inform those who don't think that molesting and raping children is a bad thing.

What, we hear a horrible story, shake our heads, then move on? This is something that people can make a difference about. the laws surounding child sexual abuse and pedophiles are pathetic in this country. Instead of just shrugging our shoulders and shaking our heads in disgust why can't we do something? Sign this petition that is going around Canada! It is asking for lengthier sentence for those convicted of child sexual abuse. We can't just keep brushing it all under the carpet. Don't just sigh with relief, think about how it was able to happen in the first place.

i sighed in relief to KNOW and LEARN that those two boys are safe. Who said I'm the type to shake my head and move on? Definitely not me...what I meant in my missive is what matters now is that those two boys made it out alive while they were with the pedophile. That guy could of done the un-imaginable. But he didn't...and everyone thanked God for that. And i agree ~ harsher punishment needs to be done.

right...not pathetic...just willing to make a deal with a serial child rapist so he can be out again to rape again. to those boys he did the unimaginable...he raped them. I'm not trying to say that you think this is okay and I am very sorry if this is coming across as such. I know this issue and I am heartbroken. I too was relieved that the boys were alive, but I also knew they were not unscathed...to say the least. I have shed my tears because I know that neither of those boys will ever be the same as they were a week or two ago. And honestly...to me, it almost sounds like the older boys stepfather sold him off. After two days he allows his son to travel the country with a stranger? He ran out of money and gas so he goes back home? He sold his son or he dumped him off. And what I can't even fathom is that our "justice" system has made a deal with this "man". He will not be a dangerous offender and he will not even spend the rest of his life in jail. In 1993 he kidnapped and raped 4 boys he was sentenced to 16 months in jail...it will be interesting to see if he gets the same sentence this time round.

Put anyone who is a child molester in Millhaven's J Unit and I guarantee they will never molest another child again. This would also stop potential molesters from molesting if they knew they were going to J-Unit instead of Pittsburgh Camp beside Joyceville Institution.Plus we wouldn't have to pay thousands of dollars a year for them once they are put into J-Unit.We would never read about them again harming another child.
