Does that mean that the U.S. will stop advertising prices such as 4.99 dollars and simply sell the item for 5 dollars instead? Golly! Then Americans won't be to afford anything!

They should quit minting the nickel. Given the rate of inflation, it makes sense to eliminate the penny and the nickel, leaving the dime as the lowest denomination.

Any transactions can then be rounded off to the nearest tenth of a dollar instead of a hundredth.

Things can go on sale for $4.9 instead of $4.99; whoop dee doo!

Will this be the beginning of us 'rounding' to the quarter?

I'm not so sure I like that idea.

More like rounding to the nearest dollar. It makes sense when you think about it. Coins are a nuisance and soon, you won't be able to buy anything under a dollar the way inflation keeps climbing.

Not even a welfare bum will pick up a nickel lying on the sidewalk. Leave one at a bus stop and it will probably be there tomorrow.
