Why was the federal Justice Department so afraid to let Canadians learn the full story of how Ashley Smith came to choke herself to death in a Kitchener prison? We can all be relieved that a coroner's inquest is finally investigating why the troubled teen died in solitary confinement at the Grand Valley Institute for Women in October 2007.
