The new Prime Minister of Japan travelled a lot since his inauguration.

Mr. Shinzo Abe proposed the arc of prosperity to link Southeast Asian countries against People's Republic of China. Abe's trip was to persuade these Asian countries to join him while he gave out economic benefits as enticement.

The first stop last week was Vietnam which focused only on discussion of economic ties, and refused to entertain Japan's plan to contain China.

In Thailand, Abe met the King and Prime Minister Ingluck. The Thailand government has no interest to be exploited by Japan politically. China and Thailand are always friend partners in many respects. The majority of population in Thailand has Chinese blood, for instance, the King and Ms. Ingluck herself.

Abe's stop at Indonesia met with the same embarrassment because the Indonesians were willing to talk about economic matters but refused to support Japan's proposal to contain and fight China together.

Frustrated, Abe cut short his stay in Indonesia and returned to Tokyo earlier than planned on this past Friday.

In contrast, Abe and aides were greeted with an exceptionally warm welcome.

President Acquino and officials were explicit in economic and military co-operation aiming to contain and counter China's grow influence. Both countries will support each other against China in conflicts over the Spratly Islands and Diaoyu (Senkaku) Islands.

Japan will provide military assistance in financial and material forms. Japan also will supply 10 patrol ships to Manila.

Both countries issued explicit statements about co-operation and against China.

That is the only stop that Abe realized his goals.

On Friday Asia time, it was the 63rd anniversary of establish diplomatic relationship between China and Vietnam.

In a cocktail event hosted by the Vietnam Embassy in Beijing, the ambassador of Vietnam explicitly said there is no reason for Vietnam to join force with Japan or any country to contain China.

The proposal for doing so is absurb. It did not happen in the past and will not be successful in the future.

The ambassador added that Vietnamese would never forget the miserable days caused by Japan's invasion during WW2.

Note that Abe is the key leader of the right-wing who refuse to take responsibility of the war crimes committed by Japan during WW2. In fact, before this trip to ASEAN, he already issued statements to deny responsibilities over Nanking massacre, invasion of Asian countries, and forced prostitution (comfort women).

Most ASEAN countries would look at this with suspicion and they can never forget Japan's Great East Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere under which they were looted, raped and murdered by cruel Japanese invaders.

The reaction to Abe's actions are totally different in the Philippines due to the different roles played by some key families during war time.

VNam can easily for give just as they forgave all the Agent Orang, land and sea mines and massacres perpetrated by the Great Satan. Vietnam holds no grudges whatsoever.

The king pin (Sultan of Sulu Kiram III) of Filipino terrorists who attacked Sabah and killed and dismembered many innocent people there said "We are not terrorists."

Do you remember what Bin Laden said. He and his associates also said "We are not terrorists." They called themselves heroes.

The Philippines govt did nothing. This mastermind of the terrorist attack is still in the Philippines. But govt fails to do anything.

They should arrest him and pass him to Malaysia.

Instead, he becomes the hero of many patriotic Filipinos.

Manila will do nothing to arrest this mastermind of terrorist attack, I predict.
