I'm probabably that.00000001% knuckle-heard that support everyone who has influence on Cambodia. Granted, no politian is perfect. Khmer politian take their job very very very seriously and very very very personal, unlike the American politians. American politians argued about the issues in the Capital Building, shake hand, and have lunch together, heck..maybe a game of golf ,or hunting trip afterward. Khmer politian should be the same. Can you imagine Sadam Hun Sen, I mean..Somdach Hun Sen shake hand with Sam Rainsy? That wouldn't stop the rotation of the earth, would it? it's for the sake of the country, for crying out loud, stop the division of people and the country, let rebuild and live.

Well, i don't want to get into politics but i think:
Mr. Hun Sen seems so busy these days rebuilding or improving and polishing relationship with Mr. Sam Rainsy. GREAT MOVE! It's a new culture for Khmer politicians to do somethings PRODUCTIVE AND HOPEFUL for their VOTERS.

MR. Sam Rainsy: GREAT OPPORTUNITY for him to SERVE HIS country and people with dignity and conviction. He is doing great job our there. Gains alots of applauds and respects from different levels.

Prince Rannaridh?: I have no idea, cannot count also but let me quote: "New ladies? New Party Headquarters?, New Party general secretary?.. New Planes and Palaces/mansions?? New Faces? also.??..

The King?: Facing 'New Challenges' for his nation: and needs of the folks in the countryside and hungry business people... alike....
Don't you know that the rich people are more hungry than the poor???? I did a study on that.... Very sad and....

Former King???: Let him return and be the Champion for everyone!!

God bless KHMERS!!

We request the reform of all parties in cambodia. and change all cabinet and leaders who involved in corruption. This factor hints the development of the country. incompetent people and leaders should be recruit through exam to make sure of their professional standard, experience, and competency.
In short, every body should be tested their knowledge and the candidate should be free from corruption and immoral behaviour.

The King is the symbol of cambodia to protect the power of the prime minister of CPP.
The king has no power. The king will accept any issue raised by prime minister if he think that it is right.

my dad loves the khmer king, because he believes the era of king sihanouke reign was the best since the indepedent of khmer from colonail.

lonnal was war, khmer rouge was killing, da four eyes rules was war
hunsen was war and unending misery.

I have no objection whatsoever for King Norodom Sihanouk to be returned to Cambodia. After being on a throne since age 18, Cambodia had not yet seen much sucess. Now at the age of 83, he should plays a role as a grandfather to watch over his children and grandchildren. He should preaches peace and unity of Khmer Srolaange(love)Khmer. It has been proven that it was the lack of unity that created division and chaos in Cambodia that lead to death and destruction. One piece of branch can easily be broken but two or more is a lot harder. I hope his youngest son King Sihamoni(Sihanouk/Monique)will make decision that is the best interest for his country and for his people. I hope he takes the good examples of great kings before him as role models to follow to unite his people and strengthen his country and redem the rolyal image. Khmer history was created by best and worst of kings, it only fair to uphold the tradtion of monarchy in the Kingdom of Kampuchea(Cambodia).

the presence of the king is not the sign of peace, stability, and prosperity in Cambodia.
So far the king is not important factor to guarantee human right, safety, democracy and development in the country.

King Sihamoni has no political power in Cambodia. Prime Minister Hun Sen has all the power. Just like many countries around the world who still have kings, most of those kings are just there for people to honor and respect but cannot have any meaningful saying. This is the what it means to be democracy. Human right and other fairness and justice can only be dictated by the prime minster, not by the king. Cambodia by heritage is a nations of kingship, to abolish king in Cambodia for whatever the reason would be a digrace. Cambodia should have king but should not play a political role. King in Cambodia should be honor as a symbol of unification of the country.

Yes, indeed the king is a symbol of unity. The king can act as a referee glueing the different factions together. There are still a big portion of cambodian population still believe in the king and suppor the king. This is why the CPP still honors the king. No matter what is the circumstance is, it is part of our history, culture, and tradition. But democracy is the way of the future as seen worldwide.

Folks, remember before the new border accord between vietnam and cambodia prepared by CPP was submitted to the new king for his signature for legitamacy, Hun Sen threats to dismantle the monarchy if the king does not sign the accord. Is it an honour or a disgrace from CPP to the king and royal family ?
I need your comment on: will Cambodia in the futre become republic or not after King Sihanouk's death?

America was almost a country of king. The first president of the United States George Washington was almost crowne to be king of United States of America but later rejected the idea because of the dislike of the British back then.

Cambodia always have been ruled by kings before Lon Nol and the Khmer Rouge. It was the Norodom Sinhanouk that gave the last blow the image of the royal family of Cambodia. Today King Sihamoni chose to carry a very heavy burden to restore the image of his family. He is not a flamboyance playboy ladies-man like his father. He has his own style to fit to be a king, which seem calm, cool, and collective, so far so good. One European writer had known the king for quite some times and warn not to be fullish by the King Sihamoni demeanor. He is a man of focus and deep thoughts.

Whenever is the death of King Sihanouk, not all Khmer will be sadden. Cambodia will still have king many generations to come. Most Khmer are very fond of the royal family. Hun Sen thinks he is invincible because his backup is Hanoi, however he cannot go as far as to abolish monarchy in Cambodia. Cambodian and the international will not allow that. There is a such an organization in the world where all kings and royal families are to support each other if and when one is about to be dethroned in any country.

Cambodia was meant to be doom when the French protectorate chose to throned an 18 yrs old Prince Norodom Sihanouk as a king of Cambodia. The decision was doubtly influenced by Vietnam. In 1953, France gave Cambodia independent without a shot being fired, furthermore, gave glorious name to the king as a fighter for independent of Cambodia.

We all know too well about the characteristics of retired King Sihanouk. His lack of leadership skill was what needed to further destroy Cambodia. Under his leadership, Kampuchea Krom(South Vietnam)was under the grip of Vietnam and French simply signed away that piece of the territory, totally ignored Sihanouk. There was good progress under his leadership, however; there was also some injustice of the people.
