It's very obvious that you put Khmer people down. You know nothing about Cambodia or her people. You are so shallow and has very little education about Cambodia and her people. Go get a life..........as of right now I'm sure you don't have one.

Khmer people are very generous people. Although, there are a few who like to take advantage of other. Khmer people are just like the people around the world. Unfortunately, many Khmers are not able to get the same opportunity as the American people. lol ehehe eheheh. Some people speak of little volume, but hey..lol eheeh it's ok.... cause someday, khmers people will be known.

You are absolutely right "Final 1" Someday the Khmer people will be known for the most wealthiest country in the south east of asia like it was in the 60"s.

Cambodia was the wealthiest country in SE Asia in the 60s? Please, that is not true! There are no recorded data to justify this statement and it's not anywhere close to being correct. I certainly could live with the word "Peaceful."

By any means have you looked at Thai's economy and the country as a nation? If I'm not mistaken, her GDP is approx. 550 Billions compared to 12 billions Cambodia (Half of it came from foreign aids - We are begging the whole world for monies). Thai economy has stayed that way for a very long time.

Sorry, you are so far off and you're embracing many intellectuals with your claim!!!

I strongly advise you to check the International GDP recordS for 1960's prior to making statement(s) such as you have. Thank You!

For your own knowledge, please refer to below listed link on GDP. The increase money from oil and tourism does not translate into an automatic growth in national Income per Capita! It's the corruptions that could destroy the entire national growth by all means (The 300 to 800 percent inflations will take precedent in this case).

Take a look at Nigeria!

I hope these links (CIA Factbook - Offical) could help answering some of your concerns:

cambodia:
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-...

Thailand:
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-...

Vietnam:
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-...

For the Income per Capita to increase and double itself, it would take 10 to 15 years, providing that the rate of inflations is successufully controlled!

Corruptions will dictate and damage the Free-Trade pricing and that will drive up inflations as Cambodia economy continue to grow!

Let's pray that all Government Officials will be cleaned and free of corruptions starting next year! YES?

You don't know? Please take a little time to ask yourself further as to why Thailand as a nation and people have managed to maneuver and avoid all the senseless killings and corruptions, and continue to build their nation and its economy into one of the little tiger in SE Asia? How much are they different from the Cambodians as to the Ethnic Origins, Religious Preferences, and Traditional Cultures?

Who is careless enough to not see__that each and every person is the master of his own destiny... providing that he or she has a strong desire to see and accept it as such!

Above all, Cambodians as a nation and people have continued to live on their glorified past and thus, continue to fail themselves by not making necessary corrections or adjustments to cope and to flourish, more importantly, to stand on their own two feet.

There is no doubt that almost all the nations on earth have done through wars, more importantly (i.e. Japan, Korea, and Europe All these countries were basically bombed out or flatten). Nonetheless, they have managed to make corrections and changes by ways of strong determinations and commitment to excel... The Thai's have experienced of the same, they were continuously ran-over and burned to the ground by the Burmese.

How did they manage to survive and flourish as nations?

Strong leadership and personal desire... Perhaps?

Oh, another thing Samol... this is how the CIA factbook begin its sentence regarding Thailand:

"A unified Thai kingdom was established in the mid-14th century."

Does the word "UNIFIED" means anything to you?

Can you say the same about Cambodia as a nation?

Thailand benefited a lot from Cambodians misfortune (the WAR) they should thank us Khmers .... I can't blame the Thai, afterall... they continue the Khmer tradition with a little modification lol eheheh... ehehhee...

You all should see that today (Cambodia) is much different. Just look at their policy. The government support big businesses, The King is demoted to a mere body without a soul lolehehe... ofcourse to my liking, I enjoy seeing them suffer. The only downfall to all of this is the poor Khmers who do not understand the law of democracy.. and they suffer as a result of slow educational evolution. I feel sad for them.

First of all, let me say that "thailand" originally belongs to "Cambodia". The thais steals everything! They're also arrogant, greedy, and fake. I'm not Cambodian but if I had to choose, I'd rather be a Cambodian for the sake of pride and integrity. There is nothing great about thailand either, unless you're a pedophile (there are plenty plenty and I mean PLENTY of cheap thai prostitutes. That's what they're best known for. They copy and steal everything from the Cambodians... history, culture, customs, clothing, food, etc. It was unfortunate that the Cambodians had to go through what they did and of course the thais have to further add insult and belittle them. What does that show you of true thai character? If the tables were turned and they were the victims of a genocide, I'm sure they would be going around begging for scraps, too...(as the greedy dogs they are). They wouldn't be talking all that non-sense sh*t that they've been talking for these long years. They need to learn some "integrity" as well as what's right and what's wrong. With that, I hope that thailand will suffer and go through an even worse genocide/extermination in the near future so that they will know what it's like. We all shame the thais!!!! And they should be ashamed of themselves, too... for talking all that smack. Go to HELL! Thanks.

You can be proud of the past but you cannot live with it. Remember the past and the present is not the same.

Oh please, how one can proceed to stand with one foot if the leader fails to lead let alone with two feet. Cambodians haven't recoup from wars and now being beat down by the neighbors who take opportunity to degrade?
Thai is smart I must admit, but throughout thier history, they're such submissive people. They're easily elited with others for protection because they know they're weak at one ankle.

I strongly agree with your opinion Samol. Cambodia had come across alot of wars. That is why our GNP is low. But (Gee wzz) please remember that your country(Thailand)recently only had stopped taking aides from other countries.

REMEMBER!!!!

I disagree with you. You see only on sided story. The Burmese sacked Bangkok once, but the Thais sacked Angkor three times to get more land and resources from the Khmers. This how they have survived as nations. Khmers had made changes by moving capital to Lung Vek and then Phnom Penh, But, the greed Thai king still wanted to take control over Cambodia so that he could claim to the world that his ancestors built Angkor wat. He failed big time. Thailand avoided colonization not because they were better than others, but just Sudan in Africa, the British and the French were tired of fighting so that they negotiated to make Thailand as a buffer country between the British Burma and Malay and the French Indochina.
