Myanmar allows first UN aid flights but none from US
Relief supplies from the United Nations began arriving in Myanmar Thursday, but U.S. military planes loaded with aid were still denied access by the country's isolationist regime five days after a devastating cyclone.

Let them do without then.... we have plenty of people in this country that need aid. Charity begins at home!

In Iran and Indonesia they took the aid -- then a month later they were screaming "Death to America" in parliment.

To hell with them, cut all food aid we give to the UN and make sure that doesn't reach them either. There are other places in the world that can always use it.

OMG that really hurts my feelings.
A third world country refuses our aid. WAIT 22% of the U.N's funding comes from the U.S. and I bet most of the food was donated by us also. So your still taking aid from us. HAHA jokes on you, silly facist. |

Yea so they can shoot at the heros of this country some more. Sounds like a brillant idea. In other words who care about N.O. they did it to themselves. |

The Arab militias in Sudan came up with the perfect solution to challenges like this: paint your planes to look like they're UN.

They are still Americans. I dont agree with what has happened in N.O. either, but I am sick of our Government helping other countries when parts of our own country is in shambles. Stop being such an angry person. This country will never improve with people like you living in it.

Shouldn't you be out on a ledge somewhere? |
I'm sure the people in Parliament weren't the ones who needed the aid. |

Lets all be adult about this
1 they dont want our aide thats ok 2 dont forget about famine and disease 3 rebels and militias and such have been started over hunger so when the killings and local factions start forming and dont ask for the U.S. to come to the rescue we have all had to deal with someone or something that we didnt want to |

Don't give anything to them. If they don't want anything from us don't give them anyting. We could use it here in our own country. We always try to help out other countries, but they just turn us down. Who cares.

So be it. I wish they would drop a load here at the building I live in for the disabled and elderly. I live on $636.00 a month and that is quite a challenge when better than half of it goes to rent and untilites.
Before anyone asks the obvious, but rather annoying question, I have a computer and internet thanks to my generous kids who got it for me for Christmas and will be maintaining it for me next Christmas. No, I don't have cable........just a set of rabbit ears that gets me one commercial station. That's enough. |

What an insensitive, inhuman, unAmerican thing to say about one of the oldest cities in America! How dare you say N.O. did it to themselves! It is a travesty that our government STILL has not responded and rebuilt one of the most diverse, beautiful cities and yet has the audacity to spend BILLIONS occupying Iraq! You are a disgrace not only as an American, but as a human. Remember this: Karma is b*tch! Hope you get everything you put out! |

I am quite sure that the victims want the aid, but their leaders are against it. While those leaders are eating well and sleeping on their own comfortable bed, people are dying every day from disease and starvation.

I find it sad that in the the short period of the last decade, suddenly most countries do not want any "organized" American force in their countries, even charities for charitable purposes. When for decades previously, we (and our aid) would be welcomed with open arms.
"Observe good faith and justice toward all nations. Cultivate peace and harmony with all... The Nation which indulges toward another an habitual hatred or an habitual fondness is in some degree a slave. It is a slave to its animosity or to its affection, either of which is sufficient to lead it astray from its duty and its interest ... Tis our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances, with any portion of the foreign world." - George Washington, Farewell Address, 17 Sept. 1796. |
