Which Muslim capital will Barack Obama choose?

President-elect Barack Obama says he plans to deliver a major speech in an Islamic capital aimed at improving America's image in the Muslim world.

He better say that it is time to abandon terrorism as a means to an end -- and that includes terrorism against Israel. He needs to draw a firm line that says we don't want to be your enemies, but if you continue to have no regard for innocent life and the property of others, than we have no choice but to resist you and to do so with deadly force, if necessary. He needs to let them know in no uncertain terms that the U.S. is not Europe. We will not be bullied by wannabe caliphs. But if they wish to coexist in peace, warming to open trade, freedom and democracy, and to come into the 21st Century from the 16th, we will be among the loudest to cheer upon their arrival.

I don't think it will be Cairo. As a dual American Egyptian citizen living in Cairo I would actually be really pissed at Obama if it were Cairo for the reasons mentioned in the article. I suspect it will be Jakarta or Amman.

We seem to have created a terrorist training ground in Iraq in order to prevent attacks on our homeland. The terrorists have killed more americans, learned how to fight our military more effectively, and received more support, not less, in the Arab world. I don't find that an achievement. So I don't believe trying a different approach is a bad thing.
