I believe it's a very narrow-minded approach to the Bulgarian reality. Bad news sell better than the good ones, so good job - you managed to entertain your readers at Bulgarians' expense. Yes, there are problems, but it seems that you overexpose them. I would enjoy reading a more balanced and objective piece. And it's one thing being in BG as a tourist who doesn't speak the language and misunderstands the situation. Try living there and I bet you'll understand it better and get to like it more.

I was just in Sofia last December...you really nailed Bulgaria...However, you should have talked a little more about the dilapidated soviet style apartments and the fact that crummy space heaters are the only thing that heats hostels.

It was exciting seeing Bulgaria in the travel section, but I don't think you did it justice, particularly Sofia. For one, there aren't horse (donkey) and buggies roaming the streets - it's actually illegal to drive it in the city!
