The motion of lifting the visa obligations for the three Balkan countries will be addressed by European Parliament. The EU Council is expected to endorse the motion November 11.

The motion was adopted after Slovenia’s foreign ministry tabled the proposal at the meeting of a business visa group within the EU council.

Lifting the visa obligations ahead of schedule could be a Christmas gift and a New Year's gift for the citizens of Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovenian foreign ministry said.
