It seems the ones who support higher taxes the most are always the ones that get caught not paying their own.

What's up with that?

Dayton has been forthcoming in his tax situation, and is the only one who released his records. How desperate is Emmer that he's having his flunkies make these outrageous allegations? What do they have to back them up?

Informed sources said today that Tom Emmer is running an international child prostitution ring out of his home in Delano. Lacking firm proof to back up the allegation, the sources pressed for Emmer to provide proof that he is not the kingpin of an international child sex ring.

Informed sources said today that Tom Emmer is not really Tom Emmer but, rather, Tammy Emmer, and that he changed his name when he had a sex change. Lacking firm proof to back up the allegation, the sources pressed for Emmer to prove that he was born a real, red-blooded man and not a woman, and that he has not had a sex change.

Informed sources said today that Tom Emmer is bankrolling his campaign using millions of dollars in profits from his Delano heroin-dealing business. Lacking firm proof to back up the allegation, the sources pressed for Emmer to prove that he is not running a heroin distribution business out of his Delano basement

Really really? Seems to me Dayton not only graduated cun laude from Yale, he also was the auditor for the state of Minnesota. I'm pretty sure he understands budgets. What ideas are you talking about for bringing government in line? Are you saying that after eight years of Pawlenty, there's still out-of-control government? What the heck else would you cut?

Wait a minute, I think I figured it out. I believe Tony Sutton is accusing Dayton of doing something that only wealthy REPUBLICANS should be allowed to do?!? Since when does the MN GOP become a critic of tax shelters. Geeez!

Are you kidding me? How in Gods name can you expect any one to vote for some idiot that spent over 7 million dollars to land a job that pays less that 150K a year? That's your version of "Understanding" money? It would take him over 50 years to break even. Double that if he actually taxed himself at the rate he wants to tax the rest of us. Moron

Pretty much the same way our President taught Constitutional Law. Dayton's push to raise taxes even more shows he does not have a clue about money or is just plain evil.

correction with al franken, didn't he end up correcting his taxes and actually pay them? if i remember the situation correctly, he actually paid them all in minnesota when in fact they were supposed to be paid in other states, a situation in which was corrected and is all up to date, including interest?

he's just showing his way of complying with the state constitution which demands a balanced budget every biennium. do i agree with how he plans to do it? not in the least, but at least he has a plan out there. until emmer, a state senator who actually should have the most knowledge about the recent budget and should know line by line where he plans to cut his way out, should have a budget already in mind and concrete plans on the table as well.

as for my current leanings in the race, i actually am thinking my best choice, given what choices are available here and the specifics known at the moment, would be the independence party. but the candidates have to give me specific reasons why they should earn my vote and/or keep it. and the reasons should be based on "WHY SHOULD I SUPPORT YOU", not "WHY SHOULD I HATE THE OTHER GUY MORE THAN YOU".

We could pay for all of MN's priorities if we confiscated all the property from these rich scumbags who don't pay their fair share. The Polads have stold billions from the citizens of MN and we should take it back and use it for education and such. The Polads money alone would pay off all the deficit and then some. Imagine if we took Taylors, Daytons, and other filthy rich peoples money back. We would not need to tax the poor people who contribute the most to our society!

Does your mommy know you talk like this?

I pay at least half of what I make in taxes. I could invest some of that if I could keep it and create some real jobs.

I sense someone telling a lie, compensating or both. It is not related at all to the conversation but you really feel the need to share it.

BTW - I have a black compost bin and the body is plastic as well. ;-)
