Bangladesh Club for community children took the initiative for establishing community school. Now that after initial founding problems it is taking material shape the official bureaucracy under cover of some vested interests which always exist in every society has started to snatch the project from community club. The GDN 22/3/2008 report is not only interesting but true copy of Pakistan School story. Pakistani school in Jeddah has same story. Like Bangladeshi school the Pakistan school was established by the community with its own fund. Seeing huge fund the Pakistani bureaucracy took control as being now tried with Bangladeshi school. The forty years bureaucracy enjoyed Pakistani school control. Four years back under pressure from community the school was returned to community under a Parents Committee. This was actually technique as for this purpose a B Team of loyal was created. The 2005 in Bahrain was a powerfight between groups contesting elections. One under Pakistan Club the other under bureaucracy. Fortunately community knowing well that those who lost control over school after 40 years were upset on loss of control over funds showed unity and brought parent committee defeating B Team. The frequent G.D.N pages of those days were topic how defeated group created new scandals. This only ended when ladies teachers fed up with it first time showing courage collectively through GDN brought facts to public. Lady teachers against one created scandal that school got fees form 100 parents for a course not available with school, through GDN came up that these students were recruited when the school under bureaucracy control. The teachers said these bogus students were enrolled in the school for bogus classes only for sake of keeping these over aged students in Bahrain. Since this brave move the B Team again had no courage to bring any other scandal. The adventurous group in case of Bangladeshi school claims that constitution was got approved with the presence of only 70 people whereas there were 400 parents eligible for vote. A constitutional amendment was made in case of Pakistan school without even the presence of a single parent. The Principal was confined to a room, was threatened to sign on an already typed letter without reading or face deportation. He was handed over a closed envelope with a driver with advice to deliver it by hand to the Ministry of Education. The letter when opened stated that a parents meeting passed the amendment contained therein. The said principal still is in Bahrain serving in another school. If he is given security he still has burden on his mind to speak the truth. The Bangladeshi club the present sponsor however claims that the school is a non profit organization no one has any personal interest. This is wrong. Though technically all such schools are non profit organizations but these wide powers make ways for personal gains. Indian school for example too is a non profit organization. But its parents committee years ago did against all norms and wishes of parents. It changed the school uniform and order was placed to a relative’s tailoring school in India. The answer as to no one is to gain personally in such non profit organizations is lies in the example that even those students who had only and only 18 days left for permanently leaving the school were forced to have the new uniforms only to benefit the company. The interests today are not direct but through indirect ways. These school today are not community non profit organizations but in fact business ventures for those who hold direct or indirect control over it. The Pakistan Club two years ago with the help of community and parents did a good job in protecting the Pakistan school fund which otherwise was going on purchase of air conditioned buses and free books. On purchase of books and buses there is a lot of commission. The Bangladeshi club will do a service to its poor children by keeping the community with it united.
