Feb 4, 2012 Full story: The Age 50

WHEN Tony Abbott at the National Press Club invoked academic Robert Manne dismissing Julia Gillard as ''the least impressive prime minister since Billy McMahon'' last week, the Liberal crowd laughed loudly.

I would vote for who ever had the best policy on immigration. Balanced immigration.

Go read the weekend papers. Only 47 of 103 Federal Labour politicians will actually come out and say they support her. Gillard is dead woman walking! She will be gone and history before the Queensland elections. and what will history say about her? She double crossed and knifed her leader, and after a very crappy interlude, was in turn knifed! McMahon did not endure anything like that, and at least he had a very pretty wife, may she rest in peace. So yes, Gillard it the worst PM in the history of the Commonwealth, and only someone from the PMs dirty tricks division could comment otherwise.(and goodness don't they need to be devious after their mess up in Australia Day).

I hear that, I say only immigration from countries with mutual immigration, no more immigration from people who won't let Australians settle in their countries, most of the countries that don't let Australia in their countries mass immigrate here and most of them hate us.

But yeah, I'm going to vote for reasonable responsible immigration, and dumping of the refugee treaty.

What did the Libs ever build? Oh yes flagpoles. Spent 300 billion in their last term and all we ever got was flagpoles.
Ur a pure Lib propagandist mate.
lol pull your head in, The Libs are just as bad as the idiotic Labour communist pigs, its retards like you that vote for either of them and toot their horns for them, when in reality they are both just as bad for our country, pull your head out of the clouds, and stop giving labour recognition for riding the China boom through the GFC, any retard could have done that even Swan and he has extra Chromosomes.

Labour/Liberal = Bad
Socialist Communism = Bad
Retards like you voting for it = Bad

I will also be looking at responsible immigration policy at the next election, I consider it to be an issue of priority. The way I see it,the only influence we will have on immigration is through our vote.

My wealth has increased and both kids have gotten jobs during the time of theis government. If untrustworthy media people think I should vote in what looks to be an inept economics team lacking Costello and the rest of the Liberal A team then they have another think coming.

<quoted text>Nice try Ahomana , but I've never been "one party". Not happy with a lot of what this government "are not doing" ( boosting industry jobs, formulating sensible immigration policy etc etc)......my opinion is that, although we need a change in government ,there is no credible alternative. Abbott is walking disaster, and he's the leader FFS !!!.....theres too many Australians get on the "hate Julia train" because they are too lazy to think for themselves. It dissappoints me....But thats Aus politics !..elections are won or lost according to what Rupert puts in the headlines 3 or 4 days before the poll. IMO , immigration should be THE major election issue in the coming election (I hope it is)....and the pollies better start listening to the voters and fixing the problems...
That is ridiculous....Julia created her own demise after the Rudd debarcle, introducing a carbon tax, the overpriced NBN, making false allegations about an Australian citizen in need overseas...noone needs Rupert bear...she has done this all by lonesome...with some help from her backstabbing cronies...we wont mention the Craig thompson inquiry..which is becoming a saga....

Vote for someone else, we got lucky with Asian growth through the GFC it had nothing to do with the down syndrome Labour party, Don't vote Lab or Libs, they're both terrible and comfortable in their positions of power, they no longer do what's in our interests any more just what they think we need, we are the nation of people not a group of idiot lawyers and bureaucrats.

We need to run both these corrupt parties off and get some real Democracy going on again.

You forgot to mention the young men who tragically lost their lives due to the insulation debacle and Peter Garrett has not been held accountable either for the tragic loss of life!

The only way that will happen, is with another GFC. We suffer from an ingrained system of global corruption , where the interests of big business is well catered for behind closed doors, and the public are appeased at election time with superficial "tokens for votes". I was extremely dissappointed that the Libs knocked back the first proposal ( 40%) for the mining tax. I do believe both parties were in cahoots on that one !.....and the corruption is not exclusive to the west...the groundswell of protests in the middle -east are for similar reasons to the "Occupy" movement.....leaders bleeding the people !

It is amazing how, with some people, prejudice always trumps facts!!I have worked for governments of different persuasions for almost four decades and I can tell you with certainty that the Howard/Costello government was the most wasteful we have had. Instead of spending money on education, infrastructure and preparing us for the future, they spent it to buy votes from the middle class. Not to mention that if they had been in government when the GFC hit they would have made a mess of it by sticking to the absolute nonsense that government budgets should always be in surplus. If they had been there during the GFC, millions of their supporters would be without a job by now, so, thank your lucky starts that they were not.

The funny thing with tools like you is that none of us have mentioned the Liberals, Howard or Abbott.

Labor is bad. It doesn't matter if liberals are worse, because they're equally shit, bloody Labor fanbois are the kings at sticking their fingers in their ears and going lalalalala I hate Howard and Aboott.
