<quoted text> Nice try egghead , but I stated clearly in my last post "full marks to Roy Morgan".......(lol).....i f you state the latest poll figures , they will still be about 1 month behind........Now , if you insist on trying falsely to say this government has presided over a 10%+ unemployment figure, while the last 12 years of figures were far lower you would be guilty of making false and misleading statements.
Well the truth is Foo, population growth is almost out-stripping economic growth right now.

Every immigrant, every refugee, every baby born is adding to that fast growing population rate - and we have farms being sold off for mining, and businesses closing down daily. We were 22m at last Census, it's said we are 23m+ now - that's not a very "sustainable" figure long-term for present conditions to keep handling.

Three years ago when Intrest rates were down to the level they are now, Swan called them "emergency levels" then... what's he calling them this time?

The last week in November LABOUR borrowed $3 BILLION dollars.

The week before that LABOUR borrowed $3 BILLION dollars.

That's SIX BILLION dollars borrowed in two weeks.

How many BILLIONS did they "borrow" THIS week?

And how much interest are we paying now?

So what does this "good" economy you are sprouting about consist of - borrowed billions of dollars with only the *interest* being paid back???

And who is benefitting from this "good" economy?

Small businessess are closing down all over Australia - they don't have a "TWO speed economy" - there's is only ONE speed for them. Do they matter?

*I'M* not stating unemployment figures, I'm repeating them - the government and the Morgan Poll is stating those unemployment figures. It just so happens that the Morgan Polls figures are nearly double the governments.

So who's 'falsifying' the figures for their own gain???
Foo wrote:
<quoted text> "it is expected that our growth figures should climb above 3% during the course of the year..."
The only "growth figures" to climb will be people and unemployment, they've climbed by nearly 7,000 people in the last three months and over 30,000+ in the last 5 years from *boat* refugees alone - not to mention the ones arriving by plane. Are they "stimulating the economy"???

NO. Everything they buy, eat, drink, smoke, wear, use, live in, is paid for by us... they are a *drain* on the economy. Every staff employed to 'look after them' and process them, and all the buildings which have to be built and maintained for them, is costing us money for nothing in return. All it's doing is employing people for whom we pay the wages - who use that money to buy stuff and pay bills. Money isn't generated, it's only circulating... borrowing from Peter to pay Paul.

And excuse me, but I'm not "bad mouthing the country" at all - I'm "bad mouthing" a very corrupt inept government and will keep on doing so until things change.

A typical un-informitive post , based on pure negativity and falsehoods....(lol) I stated facts , you blithering brainwashed goon........and you have nothing at all except nonsense to refute them?.....surely no something about economics......Coalition policy is not about facts , it's about fooling poor buggers like you who will be thrown on the scrapheap by the people you are supporting, as soon as they no longer need you.....sad really , but you can only blame youself......(lol)

There are labor and liberal supporters here but don't make the assumption that if someone is bagging labor they are automatically a liberal supporter, I'only speaking for myself but I am sure others here would agree.

....I'm not sure what your getting at here. To say we shouldn't have population growth is a bit silly. We've always had population growth. If your complaining about the mix involved in the growth , I would agree. More stringent screening of the refugee intake is needed........But , if your saying this government is responsible for the number of refugee boats , and that it is possible to " stop the boats" , as Tony Abbott claims , well , that proves you completely wrong and that you are not facing the realities. The "boat people" issue is one of the Coalition's biggest lies and biggest vote getters...."Boat people" are a direct result of the Bush/Howard years , and no matter how the devious Coalition spin it , it always will be.The invasion of Iraq would rank as one of the all time acts of stupidity that any Australian government has ever been involved in throughout history......it's laughable that the Liberal's political fortunes now rely so heavily on shifting the blame to someone else....(lol).......I also agree that (in particular) the Coal Seam Gas Industry needs to be looked at, and a moratorium is needed , until we know the full implications of the effect on the rural sector and the water....But , again, that topic is not a subject that can be used to critisize this government any more than the Coalition. The Coalition , in fact , are much more dependent on pandering to the wants and wishes of corporate international energy companies than any Labor government is likely to be , and have proved it, without doubt.......and on a similar subject , how can you whinge about coal mines closing down in one post , then be piss-moaning about coal mines taking over farms in another?.....get your head sorted out Gottaliv , your just looking for negativities, and seem prepared to invent them to fill your arguementative needs , rather than looking objectively at whats the best thing for Australia..........

True....but the biggest threat to Australia and it's people is what would happen in the current global circumstances , if a conservative government got into power....it would dwarf any shortcomings of this government.........

I will vote Liberals due to the fact I want Labor gone. If I vote anything else my prefrance could go to Labor hence defeating the purpose.
The Liberals arent perfect but are far more worthy to run this country than the ex union bludging officals AKA Laborites that currently have their snouts in the troff and are screwing this country to death.
I note Jew-Liar is all concered about power prices now. Yet introduced a carbon tax that is intended to increase power prices to deter useage....funny that.
Your first sentence sums up the problem entirely, there is no choice and looking at the liberals tells me they are illequiped to run the country as well. All they have been over the last few years is of nuisance value.
The carbon tax is possibly the most corrupt money grubbing lie ever forced on to the australian public.

You seem like a person that's worth ignoring "Brown Monkeys".......(lol) the obsession with a surplus is something I have never agreed with. Swan should be the same.....in any case a surplus is a 50/50 chance as things have turned out. If he doesn't reach surplus , the deficit will be minimal anyway , so I don't see a problem either way....most informed economists seem to be of a similar view........however , if the Coalition make a big deal of it , and the trained brown monkeys like yourself , it will prove , yet again that they are simply avoiding the need to state any policy at all that has any merit.....they don't seem to have any , which worries me....because we can't go on much longer without a credible opposition party.........try asking intelligent questions in future, thanks.

The carbon tax has proven to be no imposition on the taxpayer at all......those who copped rises in bills have been adequately compensated. Its basically a neutral effect. It has not devastated the mining or energy industries , and it has not sent any prices catastrophically through the roof as the opposition claimed it would......basically , it will have no positive effect , until Europe gets its shit together, and when it does , it should have a positive effect on investment into more sustainable energy use and industrial practices , which was the purpose for it's creation in the first place....It's worth mentioning that all European countries and China , are a long way ahead of Australia in developing more efficient energy use , and production , mainly because they have invested the money in it , because of the legislation. Germany leads the way, and have some amazing things happening.....Australia lags behind because all the media is interested in talking about is AWU nonsense and boat people.......sooner or later , we will have to start playing catch -up with the rest of the world on the issue.....
