The Pope has already said it to a
world audience. It has been reported everywhere.
Why should he have to travel from place to place to place saying the same thing
over and over.
He has made himself quite clear on the subject.

Yes, he's made it clear: "I just work here." And it's fitting that the for-display-only apology travels from town to town, just like the loving clergy being apologized for. Enjoy the show, everyone!

Is he apologising for the sexual abuse itself or for the church covering it up repeatedly and transferring offending priests between parishes to resume their abuses elsewhere?

"Benedict, who last week said his church was in "crisis" in the West because of many had lost faith in God,... "

His church is not in crisis because many have lost faith in God. His church is in crisis because many have lost faith in the Catholic Church.

Most of the wise people are embracing Buddhism and spirituality as Christanity as a relgion has failed its relevance and it surrounds around idol worship of Christ and virgin Mary.

"Our materialistic society," he said, too often sought happiness "by acquiring as many possessions and luxuries as we can."

This from a man who wears custom-tailored clothing, lives in a palace filled with priceless art, and oversees billions of dollars worth of real estate throughout the world.

Is there no end to the hypocrisy?

Now that's the spunky Aussie response I've been looking for. I was stunned to see the throngs gathered yet again for this pony show, especially in secular, earthy Australia. Evidently the need for cult and 'belonging' hasn't died down...yet.

It appears no one has answered you. Obama himself comes from humble circumstances and did not have personal wealth until he hit the right chord with the movers and shakers in Chicago. He is a perfect tool for them with his exotic ethnic blend, personal charm and eloquence. It will remain to be seen whether he can live up to his promises. We have been here so often, it's hard to believe, but I digress.

There's very little green unless you mean the cash kind. On a Euro tour years ago I was trounced by fellow travellers for saying the lavish excess did not gibe with the stories about Jesus, a humble sandal-clad man who scorned greed and avarice.

That's why King James kicked the Catholics out of the UK. To bad they spread their perversions all over the globe.

Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn't argue with that; I'm right and I will be proved right. We're more popular than Jesus now; I don't know which will go first - rock and roll or Christianity. Jesus was all right but his disciples were thick and ordinary. It's them twisting it that ruins it for me ~ John Lennon

Very few of the throng are Australian. Most have been imported for the occasion.
