DMSO is the only known substance with the ability to cross the skin membrane and bring other drugs with it. It has been used for arthritis with great results, but is not approved by the FDA in the US due to their greediness (which I won't go into) but is ironically approved in the US for a rather obscure condition (interstitial cystitis, where it is injected into the bladder) due to the fact there are no pharmaceutical companies competing for any medications for this condition.
The list of conditions DMSO can be used for is endless, and it can also cross the blood brain barrier, bringing other drugs/medications along with it. In the US it is used mainly by athletes and by Vets on horses. Due to the lack of literature on it in the US, I have gotten most of my information from the UK & Australia, though it is widely used in the European countries as well.
I am wondering if anyone has personally used DMSO, for what condition, and the results? I am particularly interested if anyone with nerve pain has used it successfully, and if so, how it was used?(Topically, ingested?) I am dying for lack of proper information on the subject, if you have used it, or know someone who has, I would much appreciate your input!!!!

Since I last posted to you, I have learned about "leaky gut"/ intestinal permeability. Google Leaky Gut and you will see that it is likely the underlying cause for all autoimmune diseases like arthritis.

If you can find a good doctor who recognises the condition and knows how to treat it with probiotics and various nutritional supplements, then I believe that would have to better than the drug you are investigating.

With Leaky Gut, your body has developed allergies and your body's ability to absorb essential nutrients is compromised and various microbes and toxins will be allowed in, creating an immune response from your body against itself.

It can also be caused or aggravated by a number of other factors, including:
Alcohol and caffeine consumption (both are gut irritants)
Parasites and bacteria (from contaminated food and water)
Chemical food additives (dyes, preservatives, flavorings, etc.)
Enzyme deficiency (as with celiac disease, lactose intolerance)
Eating refined carbohydrates
Prescription hormones (e.g., birth control pills)
Mold and fungal toxins (from stored grains, fruit and refined carbohydrates)
Free radicals (unstable compounds that can damage healthy cells eg.old re-used oil)
Exposure to environmental/dental toxins
Stress

Perhaps the greatest contributors to Leaky Gut Syndrome are the drugs listed below:
NSAIDs (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as aspirin and ibuprofen)
Antacids
Steroids (including corticosteroids such as prednisone and hydrocortisone)
Antibiotics (which promote overgrowth of harmful bacteria in the GI tract)

Thanks Henri. I'm just glad I found a doctor unlike most other doctors in Australia, one who looked at all my symptoms and even how my skin appeared in order to make an educated guess at what the underlying cause of my problem was, then test it and give me proper treatment (with nutritional suplements and guidance on what foods/contaminants to avoid).

Thanks for posting the info to my question in another thread - since I can't be bothered logging on I'm missing replies and the threads get lost in all the garbage.

I'm interested in this because of a young lady who's had part of her stomach removed years ago and sewn back on to the Oesophagus. Doctor now wants to remove more of her stomach, and this time most of her Oesophagus as it's full of lesions from the drugs she's been put on. She also has bone and teeth fluorosis as every single drug she'd been taking contained fluoride. They were treating her ???'arthritis'??? with bisphosphonates of which the main ingredient is fluoride, and it also causes oesophageal lesions which lead to cancer. She had blood fluoride levels done and they were in the toxic range. Needless to say she was immediately taken off all fluorinated drugs but the damage is done as she's not healing properly because of her badly compromised immune system. She's in a real mess and she's only 28!!!

I thought my daughter was in a bad way because of her toxic level damage but she pales in comparison to this other young lass. But on the other hand if I hadn't pushed for her F levels to be done, she'd be well down the road Jodie's on now and much worse off. I'm also lucky I had contact with overseas doctors and professors who know all there is to know about F toxicity and they helped with their priceless advice.

There are now 9 people in my town who've been diagnosed with F toxicity and they all suffer the same symptoms and were all being treated for 'arthritis' and stomach disorders (with fluorinated drugs). Our water supply has just been fluoridated as per mandate - our council doesn't want it and a recent Poll showed that 93% of the people won't drink the water. So the gov's "mass medication" scheme has failed in this town!!! Sales for filters and tanks have gone through the roof and there's a waiting period on orders, so at least the sellers are happy with the result.

Bet he doesn't use this again, he got more than Lynx Fever!

Man 'nearly killed' by spray-on deodorant:
12:00 AEST Sat Jan 2 2010
By ninemsn staff

A British man almost died on Christmas Day after suffering a severe allergic reaction to spray-on deodorant Lynx Fever that caused his throat to close.

Darren Palmer, 36, was using the anti-perspirant for the first time when his skin broke out in blotches and he went into anaphylatic shock, the Daily Mail reported.

Seconds after applying the deodorant Mr Palmer began to suffer the severe reaction and went to the bathtub to try and wash it off.

But his throat and windpipe began to close with swelling, forcing his wife Joanne to call paramedics.

"It all happened so fast, it was terrible," he said.

"I work spraying chemicals so I would have thought if I had any sort of allergy I would have found out before now."

Ambulance officers gave Mr Palmer oxygen and adrenalin after his airways began to close.

Allergic reactions to chemicals are likely to be more pronounced in sensitive areas like armpits, where the deodorant was sprayed.

Most drugs are toxic but the effects on some people (non-secretors) seem to be more severe. I don't know much about flouride but antibiotics can also cause a lot of damage.

I acquired tendinitis last Sunday and was about to give up on it today. Nothing was working for me. Someone mentioned getting a liniment. I had no idea what that was so I researched it online. I came up on DMSO and did a lot of reading. I am really surprised about it. A trip to Tractor Supply got me a can of the gel DMSO. All I can say is wow. It hasn't completely cured it - YET. But the first application, I didn't cover the whole area that hurt. The pain stopped in those areas in 5 minutes. 4 hours later I applied it again, but did so on my entire hand and forearm. Amazing. I can actually do things with my arm again. No pain. It still feels somewhat weakened still. But its still amazing that it feels the way it does that fast. They say it gets better by continuing the treatment. I'm a believer. Better than anything a doctor can do.

Really is the truth! As for the endless argument going on government vs. alternative I'd just like to add: I don't know everything about alternative medicine, but I DO KNOW that after the statement "Go see your GP", you might as well give up arguing with some sheep who firmly believes in a medical establishment that is purely based on money. More than half of the FDA is either paid directly or has stock in the pharmaceutical companies, do you really believe that when it comes time to decide if and what a drug is safe for that the FDA is making any decision that doesn't benefit their pocketbook? Furthermore, physicians are paid and rewarded not only for pushing certain pharmaceuticals, but for prescribing medications for conditions which they were never meant to treat, only to make money. The FDA, the pharmaceutical companies, and the physicians are a cluster f*** to the people they are there to serve, and even more to all the people who actually believe that they have their best interests at heart. Pig should be called "Sheep", because that's what he is, quoting government propaganda & seemingly incapable of a single original thought of his own! peace&love J
You should reAd kevin tredeaus Natural Cures book(unless you have already), not just for entertainment or for ammo to argue with the conformists but try it really and judge for yourself.

DMSO is used as a driver for other medications. My husband has used it on himself several times but it is not recommended. There are a lot of unanswered questions about DMSO and I'm sure those answers will stay that way until someone of importance ($$$rich$$$) is effected by it. But to answer your question about it's safety. Straight DMSO to a humans skin is very dangerous. Humans have very thin hide and DMSO will soak into the blood stream. As we have found out. Unfortunately DMSO will effect the muscles in your body to extreme!!! Causing irreparable damage to the muscles and poisoning the blood stream. While he did use it for awhile we noticed he began to have trouble with muscle tears happening more frequently. He would rub down the sore spots with more DMSO repeatedly till the pain went away. After awhile doing simple activities would cause more tears in the muscles and require more surgery's. I'm thinking wtf you know. Then we went to a specialist who explained what little they knew of the use of DMSO on humans. He has never used it since but he still has muscle weakness and problems with muscle tears, where he applied DMSO. This problem will never go away. The damage cannot be fixed, ever!!!! So my advice would be to never use it. While it is a good medication driver for animals, in humans it becomes a serious issue. One you will have for life.

I'm a great believer in alternative medicine, hate drugs and don't take any, but I wouldn't touch DMSO with a ten foot pole. Have you read the MSDS on it? It's a S6 on the Poison Schedule.
MSDS: http://www.jtbaker.com/msds/englishhtml/d7120...
Besides, how would you know you're getting the real deal as it's been synthesised for over a hundred years?
I believe there are a lot more safer alternative medicines to be using before even considering DSMO, if ever, and then only as a last resort. Just my 2 cents worth.:)

DMSO is a very good medicine. I was using it during cancer treatment as a facilitator to enhance the apricot seeds (ground up) I was taking. Normally when i took the apricot, it would make me burp noxious fumes, and i would feel generally a bit ill. When i combined the pineapple juice i took with it, it had no ill effects at all! I also kept taking it 1 tsp a day with juice until it was all gone. I had such a large tumour in my breast, the doctors thought i would be dead soon, and it would have certainly spread elsewhere. I refused chemo, which made them freak out! Instead i just had surgery, radiation (it also reduces the ill effects of radiation). And had no cancer elsewhere, none in the lymph nodes and 2 years later am fit as a fiddle! I believe dmso is a wonderous, natural and harmless substance. I also use it when i strain my back, or my tennis elbow acts up. It helps heal damaged tissues MUCH faster, i rub it on, after i have rubbed on the deep heat. Its attracted to cancerous/and or damaged cells, and heals them, which when you are dealing with cancer cells, it reverts them back to normal cells..its awesome!!!!!!!!!!

That information was printed by Mallinckodt Baker, which not only is a HUGE pharmaceutical company, which would lose BILLIONS if DMSO was effective, but they also claim, basically, that what they are saying MAY not be the truth! As I have been taking it internally for a week, without using gloves or having any need for medical attention, I can pretty much promise it isn't the truth as stated. I'd say the jury is still out on this one, I need information not put out by a pharmaceutical company with their own agenda, but I do very much appreciate the info :)

By lactose-free milk, do you mean non-dairy?
I have also read somewhere the theory that the molecules in dairy products swamp the nutrients of other foods and render them un-absorbable by the body.
I think what the Dary producers do they take the lactose out. Some people react to lactose while the others react to proteins in the dary milk like myself. I do not reacto to Goats or Sheep products.
It is something to do with not agreeing with your body proteins.

The main question asked was about the use of DSMO. I was hoping to hear if someone has used it and how it worked for them. I suffer from RA and I would like to know if anyone had good results.
I have noticed that majority of people are talking about Vitamins, Magnesium and nuts. I have beeen using those for years with not much to show for, however when I did the allergy test I found out that I am highly intolerant to most of the nuts, spices, fruits, vegetable, gluten, soy, additives and list goes on and on.
So what is good and healthy for one doesn't meant that it is for everyone.
Everything that I read about DMSO sounds fantastic and I will give it a go. I have had a 1 teaspoon in a glass of water last night and I am still alive. I do hope for good results.
