Lawmakers Upset Judge Ended Tsarnaev Interrogation

"A federal magistrate judge has set off a firestorm of criticism for ending the interrogation of the surviving Boston Marathon bombing suspect before, lawmakers contend, law enforcement officials had concluded their initial interview.

On Monday morning, Magistrate Judge Marianne B. Bowler visited Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s hospital bedside to preside over his first court appearance, reading him his Miranda rights and informing him of his right to remain silent. That ended the suspect’s cooperation in questioning that the Department of Justice’s High-Value Interrogation Group had begun under a public safety exception to Miranda, when it can legally question a suspect without a lawyer present....../

/..... “He stopped cooperating,” Rep. Mike Rogers, chairman of the House Intelligence committee, said today. “The FBI will tell you, they don’t believe that they got the information, all the information that they would have liked about the public safety factor in the interrogation.” ]

(full article):

This seems bizarre. It may not all be as it seems.

Perhaps the FBI were getting anxious that every little crumb of info they were getting was being broadcast publicly by the media immediately. If other as yet unexposed bomber accomplices exist, they could be monitoring these media releases to gauge whether to flee the country.

This apparent obstruction by the judge could be more by mutual agreement with the FBI than it is made to seem publicly.

Can one ever be sure what double games security services play?

it could be as you say, and it could be a trick move by the FBI and the judge; but it could also be that one judge finally remembered her moral and ethical resposibility to uphold the law and the human rights above any other thungs.
This actions are positive to get people to believe in justice again, when judges do what they are meant to do; unlike aussie judges that let themselves be influenced and prejudiced by low life "cokesniffing" prosecutors who arrange kangaroo courts with hore like defence lawyers to pervert the course of justice and convict innocent people ( the very low life's); judges are suppossed to be above these low life "cokesniffers" and don't allow them to get away with their dirty arrangements and let justice take its natural course. No wonder people (especially young people) have lost any trust in the law and the justice system.
