Korean assaulted by white kids in Australia, gets finger cut off
by Robert Koehler on November 14, 2012
in Korean Diaspora

Another racist attack on a Korean in Hojustan. From the Chosun Ilbo:

A Korean man studying in Australia says he lost a finger in a racially motivated attack there and was also abused by local police.

The 33-year-old man, identified only by his last name Jang, reported to the Korean Consulate in Melbourne that he fell victim to a knife attack by a group of teenagers on Nov. 5 while walking through a park near his home with a Korean friend.

He said the teenagers asked him for a cigarette, and when he refused started assaulting him and shouting,“Fucking Chinese.”

And one of them cut off his finger with a knife, Jang said. He said police only arrested one of them and let the others go.

The English version didn’t mention the race of the attackers, which made me wonder. White kids? Vietnamese? Lebanese? Fortunately, the Korean version makes it very clear from the headline—it was a bunch of white kids.

Anyway, Jang felt the local constabulary did not take his case seriously, but since the incident went public, police have pledged to reinvestigate. The Victoria state government has also agreed to pay him damages.

Another assault on Korean in Australia raises alarm

By Cho Chung-un
The Korea Herald/Asia News Network
Wednesday, Nov 21, 2012

AUSTRALIA - Another Korean in Australia was seriously injured in an assault last month, raising concerns over the safety of Asian immigrants in the country.

The 33-year-old Korean, identified only with his surname Kim, was attacked on Oct. 13 by four to five people near his residence in Sydney, according to Kim and Australian police.

The attackers kicked Kim and struck his head with a golf club. The Korean ended up with two broken ribs and skull fractures, police said.

"They were hiding behind a car and suddenly attacked me and then they (fled by) car with my bag," Kim was quoted as saying by Yonhap News Agency.

This is the second case of violence on a Korean reported in Australia in less than two months. A 33-year-old Korean student surnamed Chang was attacked on Sept. 27 in a park near his school in Melbourne by more than 10 local teenagers. They cut off a joint of his little finger and broke his left arm, South Korean consular officials said.

Kim in Sydney said he wasn't able to identify any of the suspects because it was dark, but claimed that they were not Asians. He was transported to a hospital nearby and reported the case to police. However, the police are having trouble investigating the case due to lack of evidence.

Kim said he was attacked near his residence where many Asians including Chinese live. In the report, Kim said he suspects it was a racist assault but has no evidence to prove it.

Kim has been in Australia since 2007. He was working at a recruiting company in Sydney on a post-study work visa.

Meanwhile, the Australian police are currently reinvestigating Chang's case after arresting and indicting one suspect.

The Korean government officially protested the Australian police's inadequate response and called for a fair investigation.

The law enforcement agency has apologised to Chang and replaced members of the investigative team.

According to reports, two members of the new investigation team visited Chang and offered an apology for the initial investigation, admitting that it was insufficient.

Chang said he was told by police officers in charge of the first investigation that he was responsible for the case. They told him that he was in the wrong place at the wrong hours, Chang said.

Regarding the circumstances, Chang said he would prove that the attack was a racist assault targeting Asians in Australia.

Chang has been in Australia since July this year on a six-month student visa. But the Australian authorities said they would extend his visa until all legal procedures regarding the case were completed, according to the Korean consular office.

Compared to the treatment the foreign population gets in Korea, this isolated incident is still much better.
Koreans are very racist and believe that they have pure blood. If you walk with a Korean girl there people will swear at her and say she's a whore.
In 2002 before the World Cup, the American soldiers stationed there accidentally killed two schoolgirls during an exercise and the whole country went crazy and started attacking anyone who was white.
Then the media spreaded lies about American beef and the whole country believed it. Millions protested and it was all lie.
Time and time again, Koreans show how racist and prejudiced they are. The level of hierarchy in Korea seems to be:
1.Korean man
2.Korean woman
3.Korean dog (jindog)
4.Anything else Korean
5.Anything Foreign

There's a Korean proverb: women and meat should be beaten every two days

Also, if you think they are smart, think again. They are all brainwashed. They have the same opinions, hobbies and looks.
One perfect example is fan death. Practically the whole population believes that a fan can kill you if you turn it on and close the door and window in your room. They believe it can kill you by either: cutting up the air and making it poisonous, causing hypothermia because it will make the room cold, all of the air will be used up therefore suffocating you.

They are very twisted people at times. There are a few cool one out there though

Well folks, Looks like Korea have blacklisted Australia as dangerous.
http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/2012/11/27/0...

So after India and France we now have korea. At what point do we admit there is a social problem where foreigners are targets?

True, I have no doubt Indians and east Asians using public transport late at night (doing night shift work or late night study) put themselves at risk of muging. However the motivation to attack these young students is "flavoured" by some deep set complex over their apparent affluence and the sense they are doing Australia a favor by bashing Asians.

Interesting, I was attacked coming home from TAFE late one night. I had a tooth knocked out, bad facial injuries that required stitches & I also had a fractured cheek bone that required surgery!

My belongings we're taken from me by police at the hospital for "forensic testing"! A detective later sent me a letter saying I could contact him in relation to collecting my belongings, I tried several times to contact him, but my efforts we're in vein. Finally I walked into the cop shop & to unifrom at the front desk, they looked up the incident report & then stated that because I didn't contact them sooner my property would have been destroyed!

As well as this certain (not all) hospital staff took the piss etc, anyway, I'm white, so I wonder why these incidents are always branded as being racist attacks when a foreign person is the victim, but for anybody else the media doesn't seem very interested, why is that?

It happens in Itaewon all the time. There are groups that follow foreigners around because they hate them being there and are waiting for them to break the law so they can report it and get them kicked out. We have no organisations like that here. It's just our lower class who thinks like that.

The way foreigners in Korea are treated was also brought up at the UN and the government has been warned.
Also, the treatment of foreigners after than tank incident is very well known. People were attacked just because they are white.

Or let's look at the racist beef protests. A tv show reported how Koreans were more likely to get mad cow disease (lol) and that American beef is bad. This resulted in mass protests over nothing. It showed how racist Koreans are and how little they think of Americans after their country lost 50,000 men for their freedom.

Korea is one of the most racist countries in the world. If I was Korean, I wouldn't say anything about racism...
Not to mention stupid. The fact that virtually a whole country thinks a fan can kill you shows how dumb they are...lol
