The security lockdown has forced about a dozen staff to move to hotels and up to 10 executives assigned with personal protection services costing an estimated $75,000 a week.

The move follows the suicide of UK nurse Jacintha Saldanha, her death prompting outrage and, in some quarters, anger against Austereo and its under-fire 2DayFM DJs, Michael Christian and Mel Greig.

The latest threat arrived by mail yesterday and was targeted at Christian.

The letter, which originated from South Australia, was seized yesterday afternoon by detectives for examination. The item was forwarded to a News Limited journalist after being posted to an incorrect address.

The letter stated there were "bullets out there with your (Christian's) name on it" and made further threats, which cannot be printed, involving a shotgun.

Was mentioned this morning that the nurse left 3 notes, one 'criticising' the hospital, one 'mentioning' the DJ's, and it wasn't said today who the other note was for... but 2 days ago it was said she'd left a note for her 'husband'.

Still too early to form conclusions until more specifics are revealed ... if ever. In the meantime (and beyond) Conspiracy Theorists will have a field day, starting with "who actually wrote the notes" and snowballing from there.

Police have provided the family with "typewritten copies". So straight away 1). There are at least 2 copies (versions?) floating around, 2). The physical chain of authentication may have been broken, and 3). Scope exists for manipulation of content to uphold vested interests.

More 'wait & see' in store.

For sure. If she's 'accused' the husband of anything we probably won't hear about that one... if she only has glowing things to say to/about him, it will be broadcast everywhere.

I posted a comment yesterday which nobody jumped on, about the company which owns The Standard and The Daily Mail, also owns rival radio stations in Australia. What a coup for them to take advantage of this situation, they are now calling for 2Day FM to be "shut down"... and not only the DJs but now the station has received death threats

I saw one before that said slit wrists but now I can only find injuries to wrists. This one says cuts to wrists

This one says slashed

Who knows how bad the cuts actually were.

Thanks for that info. It does seem that there is substance to the report about her wrists. In any case very saddening. She must have felt extreme despair.

Seems the "Daily Beast" needs to be pulled down a peg or two as well...

"Kate Middleton Suicide Nurse Slashed Wrists Then Hanged herself
by Tom Sykes Dec 13, 2012"

She wasn't Kate's nurse and the official statement was "injuries to her wrist." This has all become overkill to the max.

And this massive beat-up is starting to make me feel sick because of all the half-arsed assumptions and I'm sorry I ever started commenting on it. If others hadn't been so assuming and judgemental I wouldn't have but I thought if this was my daughter, I would be devastated further by the nastiness that people resort to when a tragedy occurs.

No respect is being shown by the media to her family at all.

The more I get to know about people the more I love animals.

Yes I did hear of that. Extremists can choose to lurk anywhere. No surprises there.

That's why in opening another thread on this I urged that wise readers proceed with caution. In a matter like this the extravagance of some posts should surprise no one. Best to hold those at some distance while seeking substantiation.:)

So you know for a fact she didn't have cuts to her wrists? Did you see the body. She didn't love her children or she wouldn't have killed herself. She must have been ok in the head cos if she lived in hospital somebody would have noticed if she wasn't. Doctors tend to notice things like that. What was she working away from home for, her husband's an accountant so they ain't poor. I ain't female but I don't know any Mum that wants to live away from her children. They can't even find a photo of her smiling.
Why didn't the woman who handed over the information kill herself? All this women did was put the call through so what's her problem?

Now, what do you know about me? What is your expert conclusion on me? I think you may know me better than I know myself so I'm intrested in your all knowing opinion! I do know you are the smartest person on Topix so your opinion is the only one that counts as far as I'm concerned

Was wondering how long it would be before the death threats started to roll in.
Once again some stupid, braindead human beings trying to prove they don't deserve the status of 'human' before the word 'being'.

If 'taking the high moral ground' meant stepping up onto a flat bus ticket then fear of height would paralyze you.

That's what everyone else is asking. Seems the woman who actually blurted info was not affected as badly. My guess is the fact she mistook a rambling Australian accent for the Queen was probably highly offensive to the Royal family. Jacinta shocked at her mistake and at the commotion it created must have thought she was in some type of nightmare. As you say, she was just doing her job.
