Don't care. As long as I'm free to live happy with my family in safety they can do whatever they want.

I believe that as humans they have a right to marry who ever they want. Society has advanced greatly, if they are committed to one another then why not allow them marriage regardless of sex. What I don't understand is that Julia Gillard is a female (females are usually more open to these issues) and an atheist, yet she says that a marriage is a sanction between a man and a woman. She is contradicting herself because the belief that a marriage is a sanction between a man and a woman is a religious ideology. I thought she would be more understanding as a female and an atheist (correct me if I'm wrong). I'm heterosexual but I strongly believe they are entitled to marry, being gay does not mean they aren't entitled. :)

Homosexuality is against Allah's teachings. It should be banned as it is an immoral way of living perpetuated by infidels.

im married to my girlfriend of two year whom i met in the states, its been great! id like to encourage gay people who are too shy to come out of the closet to just be who you are, when you do it its like a huge load of weights has been lifted off your chest, i told my family and friends when i was 16 and they accepted it and they're happy that im now married to the person i loved the most and we're planning on adopting children too, we are so excited.
and i still cant understand why people banned gay marriage in most countries..

i'm not an enemy .i just got an opinion .can not stop gays from having deep partnerships but they should not call them marriages .that confuses others .if i tell someone i am married why should i also have to add what sex ?if i say i am married i do not want to hear yeah ,but gay or straight ?it is the same when filling out important forms that ask for marital status .why should everyone have to go through life always having to explain that ?

call their partnerships something else decent .

gay couples should not have sole responsibility for raising kids .there is no way they can offer a balanced upbringing .

child raising is about role models .norm is male and female .raising kids is about the normal ,not about the abnormal .like another example ,incest is not normal so why should we allow kids raised to incest ?we prevent that where we can and we stop it where we find out because it is not normal .so if we stop one abnormal family practice why not stop another too if it is going to raise kids with abnormal expectations of life ?what if they repeat the same values when adult ?and then their kids and their kids ?after some generations society could have 2 rival lifestyles and wide confusion .

Cool, now that we have a bit of a thread going, I'll post my overly controversial views, however as always, please don't get offened people, this is in the spirit of good healthy debate, so don't hold back, but please don't get offended either.

I was very against Homosexual marriage in the beginning, as the idea of homosexuality seems inherhently wrong to me,(Coming from the perspective that we are biological creatures, and our biological impreative is to breed and pass on our genetic make-up, essentially enure our lineage) And so I would have once said, homosexuals are broken people.

However I heard the idea from a straight, long married guy, that marriage is a long and arduous battle, why should we keep all of that turmoil for ourselves, let them share in that part.

Which look, I kind of have to concede, if you love each other, regardless of your gender, you should be allowed to officiate that love in the same manner as the rest of the population.

To me however, Children is a different topic all together.

I firmly believe homosexuals should not be allowed to adopt or have I.V. children.

Sorry guys, I understand this is where many of us will part way in our ideals.

Going back to te earlier statement of biological imperitives, and broken people.

Its only fair that a child be given the opportunity to grow up 'normal', by normal, I mean having the traditional opportunities and ideas put forward to them, in the hopes that they will have every chance at becoming a fully functioning (breeder) member of the human race. Combine that with, I do not believe that a child raised in a same sex couple home would be given the same upbringing in terms of ideas about the world and society, as a straight couple. An infulence towards our parents way of thinking is I suppose quite normal, and creating more homsexuals should not be on the agenda.

Disect, rant, comment and discuss.

All except you Lara, I still don't like you. You were very rude in that other post.

100% agree.

Comapring homsexuality to incest is very racy, and I am sure you'll get some bites with that one, but ballsy, well done son.

Actually some parts of this topic do make me fire up. The whole part about "abomination before god" pisses me off no end. The sheer hypocrisy of the god botherers annoys me. It's worth skimming through Exodus, Leviticus & Dueteronomy and seeing exactly what else are considered abominations & punishable by stoning.

Yeah there's a bit isn't there.

But if you can't count on the religious for hypocrisy then who?

Lol.

Really, I find it hard to believe that a trueblue redblooded aussie such as yourself really takes no issues with the gays.

I suppose good on you dude.

While the concept of homosexuality is repulsive to me and makes me physically ill...

Queers are mostly law-abiding citizens, and so long as they remain as such they ought to have the privilege of Marrying each other.

Nah good on you mate.

As Bosey suggests although it physically repulses me, I don't take issue with them marrying.
