Malaysian Airlines MUST be run by monkeys, flying over a conflict/war zones, not knowing where their planes are. Einstein MUST of been talking about them when he said something along the lines of stupid people keep doing the same things hoping for a different result.

David Flynn from the Australian Business Traveller wrote an article 12 days after Mh370
"when asked if i'd fly again on Malaysian airlines and especially a MAS boeing 777, I'm confident in both the airline and the aircraft. Book me a ticket and I'll fly out tomorrow"

What could be more chilling and terrifying for any civilians than to be shot out of the sky by dumb peasants far below? It's a massive tragedy for the immediate victims and for their friends and families left behind.

Many countries represented among the ill-fated passengers will be feeling a grievous stake in this disaster.

To put this into perspective if at all possible, this is by no means the first civilian airliner that has been shot down in error with loss of all lives in recent years.

Just a couple showing that both Russia and the US have each shot down commercial flights in error .....

[ "Korean Air Lines Flight 007

Korean Air Lines Flight 007, also known as KAL 007 or KE007, was a Korean Air Lines Boeing 747 civilian airliner shot down by a Soviet Su-15TM fighter on September 1, 1983, near Moneron Island just west of Sakhalin island. 269 passengers and crew, including US congressman Larry McDonald, were aboard KAL 007; there were no known survivors. An official investigation concluded that the course deviation was likely caused by pilot error in configuring their air navigation system."

----------

Iran Air Flight 655

Iran Air Flight 655 (IR655) was a commercial flight operated by Iran Air that flew from Bandar Abbas, Iran to Dubai, UAE. On July 3, 1988, towards the end of the Iran-Iraq War, the aircraft flying IR655 was shot down by the U.S. Navy Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser USS Vincennes when it fired a SM-2MR surface-to-air missile. The airplane was destroyed between Bandar Abbas and Dubai, killing all 290 passengers and crew. It was later claimed by United States Government that USS Vincennes was in Iranian waters at the time of the attack, and IR655, an Airbus A300, was misidentified as an Iranian F-14.[20]" ]

And now Malaysia Airlines flight MH17

There is already pressure on Obama to weigh in, but as shown above neither Russia nor the US are historically well-placed to take any 'high moral ground' in this instance.

The one thing that all these disasters have had in common is that the airlines involved have flown over known hostile territories that are likely to harbour trigger-happy combatants.

Surely a take-home message therefore is that civil airlines must take regional conflicts more seriously and stay well away.

The US has been advising its airlines for months to avoid flying over the ukraine region, and most airlines were except for flights into kiev. This is another example of monkeys being in charge of airlines. Dutch and Australian citizens account for nearly two thirds of passengers, this is awful for their families, who were probably deep down a bit concerned about them flying malaysian airlines in the first place. One ill fated passenger even had an eery feeling and took a picture of the ill fated plane before boarding. Too awful for the families, and totally avoidable.

There are not many commonalities at all between the earlier MH 370 disappearance, however it's a big blow for the popular Malaysia airlines to be involved in another incident. Apparently the airspace was fully cleared to fly in. Obviously the airspace was not safe!

This time we have the plane, the location, the crash site and all the information to analyse. There will be an investigation, and improvements will come out of it.

This Russia to go back to the Old Soviet Union BS has gone too far. All the Dutch and Australians on Board, as well as other nations citizens. Some responsibility in the Russia/ Ukraine conflict must be put forward. Also some responsibility for flying in that potentially dangerous airspace.

If one positive can be found in this tragedy, it's that we know what happened, and the evidence can now be examined in an investigation.

With what is left to investigate?
I do not believe for one second that the Russian rats who fired the weapon will leave any evidence behind, now it's being said looters are taking things. It's very sad to think you are flying home, or holidays, business etc and the next minute your shot out of the sky, so sad for the families & friends.
To fly over the Ukraine the pilots were given the ok, l don't believe you can blame and condemn the airline, I think the blame lies with Putin, very convenient making a phone call to Obama while it happens, he has a lot to answer for.
The world needs to put sanctions on Russia, and block all trade completely.
Just listening to them speak about it on tape made me sick, no remorse at all.

Yes, a savage irony. Obviously it was meant to be funny at the time, but it has since turned out to be very un-funny.

Malaysian Airlines should be banned from flying passenger planes until their top management team have their competence rechecked by international civil aviation bodies.

They flew over the conflict zone to save fuel.

The airspace was not safe, but was not subject to restrictions.

Airlines had been warned since april about this risk by the international civil aviation organisation, which resulted in the Brits, europeans, and US being banned from flying over this zone.

The russians have the blackbox, goodluck with the investigation.

You can't really blame Malaysian airlines for this. there were dozens of international planes in the area. Imagine the uproar here if it had been a Qantas plane. Let's hope whoever did this gets their arses well and truly kicked.

Malaysian airlines are obviously morons but i think everyone is pointing the blame at the wrong people. It was the Russians that just killed 27 Australians along with so many other innocent people. And what sort of people would shoot down a passenger airliner knowing there's innocent people on board? They are just filthy scum and someone needs to step up.

What does Japanese military attacking American navy during world war 2 have to do with Russian scum killing innocent people on a passenger plane? That is a stupid comparison.

Dont mind him mate Serb Chetniks are fighting in Ukraine right now for the same Russian backed rebels that shot this plane down.

Its a sad, sad tragedy. I flew over the same area recently with Austrian airlines and remember looking at the map and saying to my wife that our flight path goes over Afghanistan, Chechnya and East Ukraine on our way to Vienna and wondered how safe it actually was....

May their souls rest in peace.

Let's not forget the judgment of the Air Traffic Control authorities involved too. They should have been well aware of the risks and been able to advise, taking some clue from other airlines' recent aversion to that flight path.
