Very very true, most PNGans get educated overseas and quickly forget their roots. They come back and think they know everything. They interoperate our PNG laws as another law, forgetting that the MORAL of our laws are closely in line with our customs and cultural norms.
Was not surprise to see the findings of the SABL inquire, male were signing for land in ENB & WNB provinces. Their customs says woman have rights over land and not man. Judges and magistrates also make decision without it.

People we are only 3 generations out from the stone age, dont disgrace ourselves to the human race...

the pommy and yankee strategy is to "train" and groom foreign nationals to their specifications at their universities and send them back as puppets to govern their countries; and who gets benefited from all that?; who will get all the govt. contracts?, who will get all the resources?
you guest it right;

Really? You think? why havent the people got their own resources out of the ground if they can TRUE??
Get in the real world, I agree their needs to be more of a share in the resources amongst both traditional landowners and the people... but you don't get something for nothing.
Mining companies need to make money too.. would you do something for free???
I am sick of reading about all this crap about mining companies wanting it all and nothing for the people. Somare Govt was the worst for this O'Neill will be fairer.
Everybody has to share in the winnings, if you want all the winnings you must work it all yourself.

I am not saying it is not ok to own it. You have me all wrong.. I am saying if you want to do it then do it!!
It has been 24 years since Panguna mine was operational. I want the best for the people. If you want the minerals that belong to you fully then dig them out yourself. If you are incapable of it and need help then you can't have all the profits. No body does something for nothing and as far as I see it PNG and in particular Bougainville has relied heavily on Australian Aid to survive.
It was your Government, not the miners that structured that deal on Panguna, People like your grand chief former Prime Minister that pretended to be Bougainville peoples friend whilst he took what he could.
O Neill is atleast transparent. Sovereign wealth funds. He will share with the people not rake off the top like what was happening before.
Thing is everybody needs to be fair and share. Rio Tinto will not help if they get nothing out of it.
If everyone works together and shares everyone wins.
The former Govt did not share and that was not fair but to expect people to keep giving things for free is not fair.
It was not Bougainville Copper that caused the war, it was the government hoarding the money that came from the mine and not sharing it.
Rio tinto gave more than half of the shares to the PNG government.. and what did they do with it?? wasted it and stole from the people.
Don't get angry at me, Get angry at the grand Chief. Whilst pretending to want the mine reopened he was telling people to sue for damages in a USA court because he stood to gain more from it personally.
Government should be for the people not for themselves.
I want what you want people a fair go for all. Was just saying I am tired of people accusing foreigners of taking PNG people for a ride. With attitudes like your ones Australia should say go and get F'd and no more aid.
Maybe that is how it should be. Then you can forget the internet over there, technology, machines... I am sorry you can;t buy all that with your cocoa or banana industry.
Get real people and wake up. What happened in Bougainville happens in Australia all day everyday.
RIO BHP etc all mine our land for coal iron ore etc. The land owners don't get anything for it here.
Difference is we have a civilised society not one that says they will kill if they disagree.
WAKE UP!!!! and then maybe something good will happen!

To start a gold mine locally, the size of Billimoa, Wau, Kumbrikari, harmony, Waffi.....does not cost K500,000,000, this can be generated locally.

Also you are too white to understand that in PNG people own the land.......not the govt. like in Aust, where it was stolen from the Abo......and for your infor...

In Bouginville people were actually dying from water pollution and no party was doing anything about it, get your facts straight in order of importance, money or Life.

Your civilised society in PNG is only POM....we are just only 3 generation out of the stone age so expect the unexpected.....95% we can get away with it......Top it all ...we have our primitive basic morals in order....

Why is it about colour of my skin??
Why don't they borrow the money and do it? Reopen panguna or a new mine and do it??
Why?
Why?
Why does png rely on aid if they are so self sufficient??
Why??
Why??
Is it not white people supplying the aid??
Do you not want the aid??
And don't talk to me about aboriginals.. The English arrived in Australia in 1788 and they still had not invented the wheel!
In 220 years look where Australia is now. Internet, cars tv harbor bridge roads boats business.. If living in caves eating yams and coconuts is what you want.. Because that's what they would still be doing.. Go knock yourself out..
Your name on here says it all..

I see your points Loozer and Wtf. You have some excellent ideas, comments, and criticisms. Now we need people who can put these together to produce results for the benefit of our people/country. Where are these kind of people....very hard to find servant leaders among our present leadership unfortunately.
