I think it would be better to have a relatively small force of special forces in there helping the Afghans. We had three and a half battalions there for almost ten years and lost approx 160 troops. I think this war is at a stage where special forces are better suited. The other thing is if things go for a shit they could be withdrawn quickly.
In future I can see the wests special forces working together lots so we might as well start now.

Afghanistan is no different to Vietnam and every other place the USA has invaded or corrupted since WW2, all failures. Those behind this and Iraq should be charged with war crimes and hung, including presidents Pm's and their supporters.

That's what we told you when you started your trolling bullshit that Australians were cowards unless we send more ordinary troops like Can-a-duh.
Seriously how stupid are you?

Your ability to call names is at least at a grade four level, well done.

The taliban had to be contained first and that took armies not little units running around with star wars guns.

Now that the Afghan National Army is scheduled to take over the actual fighting of the war, Special forces can be used to assist them. Ten years ago the Afghan army basically existed on paper alone.

Special forces can now train the Afghan special forces and eliminate high ranking Taliban officers, and other important targets.

If the Afghan National Army is defeated our special forces can be removed before this becomes another Vietnam and you assies know what happened there.

I dont want to see anymore Canadians die in a war the USA helped to start... long before 9-11

Canada has done great in that country... helped to open up dialog
in that town where the US special forces guy went crazy and shot up the 16 men women and Children...

I want nothing to do with the USA... who bottom line has shown it it has its own agenda...and self interest... over ours

Bet you watch American movies and TV, drive in American cars, fly in American planes, holiday in Florida, go cross border shopping etc etc. I have no problem with that. But when the going gets rough we should remember who our friends are.

Like it or not the US government was legally elected. They got the most votes they won. I have no problems with Americans criticizing their government. They pay their taxes and have that right. Others should mind their own business.

There were 158 Canadian deaths in Afghanistan. Some post invasion deaths in Iraq.

There were a number of Aussie deaths.

As long as Canada, Australia, and the UK shed blood in support of this country, they have every right to criticize US policy.

I don't know what you mean by legally elected. Even dead people vote here. Obama support groups (ACORN)registering derelicts and bring them to voting stations for a pack of cigarettes is legal, I suppose.:-)
