Restrictions for Aust Terror Supporter

Dec 21, 2007 Full story: The Associated Press 32

Former Guantanamo prisoner David Hicks remains a terror threat, a magistrate said Friday as he ordered restrictions on his movements after he is released from an Australian prison next week.

Hicks, a former kangaroo skinner who was convicted of supporting al-Qaida at a U.S. military tribunal after being captured in 2001 in Afghanistan, will be subject to a midnight-to-dawn curfew and have to report to police three times a week under the order.

'I'm satisfied that coupled with the defendant's views expressed and his capability and training ... that the defendant is a risk of taking part in a terrorist act,' Federal Magistrate Warren Donald said. Read more

This individual should have been sent back to Bin Laden and never ever allowed to return to Australia, period. Who wants a turncoat such as this!

He is a traitor and a terrorist and will never change.

Let him join his fellow muslims in their caves--he belongs with them!

He wouldn't have ended up in prison if his views were honourable - he is just another b!!!??d turncoat willing to sell his country down the tube and does not deserve to be supported by our taxes and have the privilege of residing here.

He thinks Bin Laden is great so let him rot in the same cave where that creature resides with his followers and they can plot their dastardly deeds together. You can be sure they plan to blow up innocents--that is their modus operandi--absolutely NO CLASS and no guts.

And of course he would NEVER have opened fire on Australians, he was just pissed off at those nasty old Americans. Here are some quotes [sic] straight from the mouth of the venomous little toad:

"Dear family I spent around three months in a muslim military training camp in the mountains. I learnt about weapons such as ballistic missiles, surface to surface and shoulder fired missiles, anti aircraft and anti-tank rockets, rapid fire heavy and light machine guns, pistols, AK47s, mines and explosives. After three months everybody leaves capable and war-ready ..."

"The West is full of poison. The western society is controlled by the Jews with music, TV, houses, cars, free sex takes Muslims away from the true Islam keeps Islam week and in the third world."

"I have met Osama bin Laden about 20 times he is a lovely brother the only reason the West call him the most wanted terrorist is because he got the money to take action."

Pathetic. Still, I suppose most traitors are pathetic.

Personally, I doubt that the dill would have the intelligence or self restraint to be a successful sleeper. Of course, since he is white, he could have been used for operations where an obvious Muslim would have aroused suspicions.

He's just a common little traitor turning on the society that produced him. His choice to be a loser, but it's obvious that he blames Australia - or the West - for his inadequacies and stupid choices.

I don't think he would have hesitated to kill Australian soldiers - too bad the Northern Alliance handed him over to the Americans instead of treating him as traitors are usually treated.

I guess he liked the idea of killing people in combat. Probably why he tried to join the Australian Army. Pity for him they didn't let him in.

The way I see it,
Hicks intended to train with Al Qaeda to attack US forces in Afghanistan whom he saw as an occupation force

He was captrued and tried for his "alleged" crimes and spent 5 years in Guantanamo Bay for basically being associated with Al Qaeda.

Whether he would have killed anyone is speculation, however the US government released him to serve in Australia

Personally he should be put in a psychiatric ward, sounds like he skinned one too many rabbits (or roos). But its a bit rich to call him a traitor....LOL

This is a classic case of "if he wants to hurt others while standing in my backyard, but he's not hurting me - let him keep going attitude"...and it will come back to bite Australia if it is allowed to happen.

The British took that approach against their mussies, and mussies from the world over congregated in London & pissed on others (US, India etc)- then one day they BIT the hand that fed them.

So it does not pay to say, "oh he's against the US, so let him keep pissing..got it ?

A "madhouse" would be more appropriate and it also appropriate for all the bleeding hearts who claim he is a poor misguided boy and only intended to hurt the U.S. You are hallucinating to believe that one--the mission of these radicals is to bring down the West any way they can. Of course they are so gutless that they could not face an army but have to use terrorism against innocents!

Their terrorism is not only againt the U.S. but you and I Elias--tell that to all your fellow U.S. haters--I am sick of hearing Australians bleeping this hate against the U.S.mantra all the time--remember but for the U.S. you and I would be singing Japanese melodies and bowing to the masters!!

Traitors such as him do not deserve anyone's sympathy but he should have been treated as traitors used to be and that way he would no longer be a problem to anyone. Let him go to his 72 virgins in the heavens or wherever these cretans believe they are. The arrogance of Muslim men toward women blows ones mind! A traitor is a traitor is a traitor - what else would you call this malcontent?

What has womens rights to do with Hicks?

Why am I an US hater? Hicks was tried in a US military court and is now in AUstralia. If the Americans wanted to treat him like a traitor he would be serving life in Guantanomo.

Go complain to the Yanks Angel, isnt it their problem not ours?

BTW - Psychiatric ward - just infect him with mind controlling drugs and he can go back to skinning roos with the rest of the "Hicks"

He is a traitor in the true sense of the word - he turned against his own society and joined a group that has sworn to destroy us. He also stated in his letters that he was looking forward to killing American soldiers.

"Whether he would have killed anyone is speculation"

How so? When you join a terrorist organisation, it's a given that killing is included in your future activities. I'm sure Hicks wasn't given a special agreement excusing him from killing.

According to this report, he also fired shots into Indian territory after joining Lashkar-e-Toiba.

Hicks facing Indian probe over Kashmir shooting

"DAVID Hicks, already facing the possibility of 20 years' jail on terrorism charges in the US, is the subject of a new investigation by the Indian Government over his attacks on their armed forces in Kashmir.

The investigation has been triggered by disclosures in American prosecution files about the involvement of Hicks with a terrorist group that has killed thousands of people in the disputed Indian territory of Kashmir.

The prosecution file states that the former kangaroo skinner and father of two who converted to Islam joined the terror group Lashkar-e-Toiba in Pakistan, travelled to the border with Indian Kashmir in 2000 and fired on Indian troops."

Different issue re: Kashmir
Again the issue is whether he would have killed anyone on Indian soil.

Like I said before, psychiatric treatment will solve his personal problems

There is far too much faith placed in psychiatric treatment - how many murderers and rapists have been freed on the word of some idiot psychiatrist and then gone on to rape and/or murder more people?

Plenty.

I have very little faith in psychiatry and its practitioners.

Statically speaking people who have had or are receiving psychiatric treatment are far less likely to be dangerous to others than us supposedly sane and well adjusted people, an insane or disturbed person just makes for better headlines.

For your information, I AM AN Australian/AMERICAN/Australian /European Union paying taxes in 3 countries so that makes me an international so this is also my problem!!

Now, Hicks embraced a SECT who suppress women and his and their intention is to bring down the West and force their Sharia Law on us. Women would be hiding under SHEETS, walking 6 steps behind muslim men (lower case), plus all the other indignities they inflict on them, bashings, having to be part of their harems, hands and feet chopped off should you dare to show them to another man, etc.

That my friend has a lot to do with this TRAITOR. Why he isn't serving life in Gauntanomo is because they intend to close that facility and send all traitors back to home base. Why would anyone want to keep Hicks and the others morons in their midst?

Now, back to Hicks - we hear that he is suffering from mental problems because of being incarcerated. Poor dear - my heart bleeds (sic)! This is just another ruse for his bleeding heartless lawyers to sue the Australian Taxpayers and cover their costs for defending him.

God--he is well past needing the psychiatric ward he needs a lobotomy!

The whole sorry saga is merely a sickening testimony to the US justice system double standards, and failure of the weak, arse licking liberal leadership of the time, if the US was serious about tracking down people who have or are supporting terrorism they would be rounding up thousands of US citizens who have made donations to the IRA

David Hicks is not a terrorist, there is no evidence that he had any intention to attack anyone, there was no trial, there was merely an extended period of torture for five years after which Hicks was told he could go home if he made a deal to help the US save face, he made the same decision against his legal councils advise, I would have done the same under the circumstances.

If Hicks had no intention of carrying out terrorist activities, why did he leave Australia to learn how to use weapons and then join a terrorist organisation?

And for somebody supposedly undergoing the tortures of the damned while imprisoned by the Evil Americans, he looked quite well.

He did not join a sect. He converted to the true religion, he was unfairly kept in prison, and it is just unfair to persecute him any furter. And he is not a traitor but a man brave enough to do something concrete to fight for his beliefs, if he even did the things that he was accused of doing in the first place. What does he owe the society, anyway? What for? For having imprisoned him?
