Agenda 21 In One Easy Lesson
By Tom DeWeese
Awareness of Agenda 21 and Sustainable Development is racing across the nation as citizens in community after community are learning what their city planners are actually up to. As awareness grows, I am receiving more and more calls for tools to help activists fight back. Many complain that elected officials just won't read detailed reports or watch long videos. "Can you give us something that is quick, and easy to read that we can hand out," I'm asked.
So here it is. A one page, quick description of Agenda 21 that fits on one page. I've also included for the back side of your hand out a list of quotes for the perpetrators of Agenda 21 that should back up my brief descriptions.
A word of caution, use this as a started kit, but do not allow it to be your only knowledge of this very complex subject. To kill it you have to know the facts. Research, know your details; discover the NGO players in your community; identify who is victimized by the policies and recruit them to your fight; and then kill Agenda 21. That's how it must be done. The information below is only your first step. Happy hunting.
What is Sustainable Development?
According to its authors, the objective of sustainable development is to integrate economic, social and environmental policies in order to achieve reduced consumption, social equity, and the preservation and restoration of biodiversity. Sustainablists insist that every societal decision be based on environmental impact, focusing on three components; global land use, global education, and global population control and reduction.
Social Equity (Social Justice)
Social justice is described as the right and opportunity of all people “to benefit equally from the resources afforded us by society and the environment.” Redistribution of wealth. Private property is a social injustice since not everyone can build wealth from it. National sovereignty is a social injustice. Universal health care is a social justice. All part of Agenda 21 policy.
Economic Prosperity
Public Private Partnerships (PPP). Special dealings between government and certain, chosen corporations which get tax breaks, grants and the government’s power of
Eminent Domain to implement sustainable policy. Government-sanctioned monopolies.
Local Sustainable Development policies
Smart Growth, Wildlands Project, Resilient Cities, Regional Visioning Projects, STAR Sustainable Communities, Green jobs, Green Building Codes,“Going Green,” Alternative Energy, Local Visioning, facilitators, regional planning, historic preservation, conservation easements, development rights, sustainable farming, comprehensive planning, growth management, consensus.
Who is behind it?
ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability (formally, International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives). Communities pay ICLEI dues to provide “local” community plans, software, training, etc. Addition groups include American Planning Council, The Renaissance Planning Group, International City/ County Management Group, aided by US Mayors Conference, National Governors Association, National League of Cities, National Association of County Administrators and many more private organizations and official government agencies. Foundation and government grants drive the process.
Where did it originate?
The term Sustainable Development was first introduced to the world in the pages a 1987 report (Our Common Future) produced by the United Nations World Commission on Environmental and Development, authored by Gro Harlem Brundtland, VP of the World Socialist Party. The term was first offered as official UN policy in 1992, in a document called UN Sustainable Development Agenda 21, issued at the UN’s Earth Summit, today referred to simply as Agenda 21.

What gives Agenda 21 Ruling Authority?
More than 178 nations adopted Agenda 21 as official policy during a signing ceremony at the Earth Summit. US president George H.W. Bush signed the document for the US. In signing, each nation pledge to adopt the goals of Agenda 21. In 1995, President Bill Clinton, in compliance with Agenda 21, signed Executive Order #12858 to create the President’s Council on Sustainable Development in order to “harmonize” US environmental policy with UN directives as outlined in Agenda 21. The EO directed all agencies of the Federal Government to work with state and local community governments in a joint effort “reinvent” government using the guidelines outlined in Agenda 21. As a result, with the assistance of groups like ICLEI, Sustainable Development is now emerging as government policy in every town, county and state in the nation.
Revealing Quotes From the Planners
“Agenda 21 proposes an array of actions which are intended to be implemented by EVERY person on Earth…it calls for specific changes in the activities of ALL people… Effective execution of Agenda 21 will REQUIRE a profound reorientation of ALL humans, unlike anything the world has ever experienced…” Agenda 21: The Earth Summit Strategy to Save Our Planet (Earthpress, 1993). Emphases – DR
Urgent to implement – but we don’t know what it is!
“The realities of life on our planet dictate that continued economic development as we know it cannot be sustained…Sustainable development, therefore is a program of action for local and global economic reform – a program that has yet to be fully defined.” The Local Agenda 21 Planning Guide, published by ICLEI, 1996.
“No one fully understands how or even, if, sustainable development can be achieved; however, there is growing consensus that it must be accomplished at the local level if it is ever to be achieved on a global basis.” The Local Agenda 21 Planning Guide, published by ICLEI, 1996.

Agenda 21 and Private Property
“Land…cannot be treated as an ordinary asset, controlled by individuals and subject to the pressures and inefficiencies of the market. Private land ownership is also a principle instrument of accumulation and concentration of wealth, therefore contributes to social justice.” From the report from the 1976 UN’s Habitat I Conference.
“Private land use decisions are often driven by strong economic incentives that result in several ecological and aesthetic consequences…The key to overcoming it is through public policy…” Report from the President’s Council on Sustainable Development, page 112.
“Current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class – involving high meat intake, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work air conditioning, and suburban housing are not sustainable.” Maurice Strong, Secretary General of the UN’s Earth Summit, 1992.
Reinvention of Government
“We need a new collaborative decision process that leads to better decisions, more rapid change, and more sensible use of human, natural and financial resources in achieving our goals.” Report from the President’s Council on Sustainable Development
“Individual rights will have to take a back seat to the collective.” Harvey Ruvin, Vice Chairman, ICLEI. The Wildlands Project
“We must make this place an insecure and inhospitable place for Capitalists and their projects – we must reclaim the roads and plowed lands, halt dam construction, tear down existing dams, free shackled rivers and return to wilderness millions of tens of millions of acres or presently settled land.” Dave Foreman, Earth First.
What is not sustainable?
Ski runs, grazing of livestock, plowing of soil, building fences, industry, single family homes, paves and tarred roads, logging activities, dams and reservoirs, power line construction, and economic systems that fail to set proper value on the environment.” UN’s Biodiversity Assessment Report.
Hide Agenda 21’s UN roots from the people
“Participating in a UN advocated planning process would very likely bring out many of the conspiracy- fixated groups and individuals in our society… This segment of our society who fear ‘one-world government’ and a UN invasion of the United States through which our individual freedom would be stripped away would actively work to defeat any elected official who joined ‘the conspiracy’ by undertaking LA21. So we call our process something else, such as comprehensive planning, growth management or smart growth.” J. Gary Lawrence, advisor to President Clinton’s Council on Sustainable Development.

I love this bit:

"Hide Agenda 21’s UN roots from the people
“Participating in a UN advocated planning process would very likely bring out many of the conspiracy- fixated groups and individuals in our society… This segment of our society who fear ‘one-world government’ and a UN invasion of the United States through which our individual freedom would be stripped away would actively work to defeat any elected official who joined ‘the conspiracy’ by undertaking LA21. So they are planning massive disruption/degradation to our hard-earned way of life ... by STEALTH ... and they're afraid it would be called a 'conspiracy'?

WTF else could it be called???

This is a recipe for catapulting developed countries back into the stone age. It is unbridled Socialism at its most widely destructive.

As for land ownership, what of those of us who have worked all our lives in good faith expecting to leave our assets to our children? This mob want to snatch that from them!!

Long before these 'politics-of-envy' idiots reared their ugly heads, Churchill got it right:

"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries".

A most diabolical aspect is that the core movement is split up among countless subsiduaries that carry different names to mask their source. That makes their wellspring very hard for opponents to target.

Thanks so much for this timely piece.

How many readers are seeing their councils setting up 'activity centres'? These are the 'smart growth' directives mentioned in the article.

How many of your councils have been a part of 'Cities for Climate Protection'?

Check out the ICLEI Oceania (Australia) website and you will see that right now councils are participating in ICLEI's program,'Behaviour Change for Sustainability'- to teach councils how to brainwash the community so they'll adopt the UN as its lord and master with little fuss.

They've already been brainwashing our children with the UN's 'Learning for Sustainability' program.

Does your council have 'stakeholders'? That's the fake community council uses to say they've achieved 'concensus'.

We know Labor and the Greens are pro-socialism, so we must try to convince the Liberals to stand up for state sovereignty. We need to bombard Abbot with letters demanding he starts the dialogue about Agenda 21 and its little devils, LA21 and ICLEI, and that should the Liberals gain power, they will rip up the Agenda 21 contract that was signed. Then we have to withdraw from the evil UN before they destroy us.

I believe if Abbott started doing that he would be totally crucified as being a absolute nut case by the ones pushing it (namely Labour & Greens in this country). It would probably be safe to say that not many Australians have even heard of Agenda 21 and have no idea of what it entails - some believe it's all a conspiracy theory - some know about it but can't believe it's really happening - and only a small percentage would believe it's real, know what's going on, but many of them can't or won't do anything constructive to stop it happening.

Britain is so firmly buried in the UN that people there say there's no way out of it now short of a Civil war.

LOSING OUR LIBERTY IN THE NAME OF FIGHTING TERRORISM

"We are told that there is a delicate balance between liberty and security and that we just have to make sacrifices to be safe. What they are asking us to sacrifice are the very foundations of our liberty.

We are not being protected. We are being wrapped in a cocoon of tyranny. All of the signs are there. We are witnessing the erosion of American liberty in the name of fighting the most primitive force on earth. Americans, however, must ask themselves who is invading their lives more, the government or the terrorists? Who is the greater long-term threat?

John Adams said it best when he wrote, "A constitution of government, once changed from freedom, can never be restored; liberty, once lost, is lost forever." Adams and all of the founders are watching us now and they know one truth that we must all relearn very quickly. The only way to make sure that government doesn't abuse its power is to not grant power in the first place."

This will sound rude and it is not my intention to be rude but, so what? The more the message is sent, the more it will be received. And we can always use Alinsky's Rules for Radicals against them the way they've been using it against the right for all these years.

WA, Vic and NSW are all Liberal now. I'm in the process of writing to every minister requesting they terminate the ICLEI program. I have already written to the Premier. I also met with my local MP and explained all about the UN, Agenda 21, etc. She was clueless. Unfortunately, my federal MP is Labor so I'll skip him. I've discussed this with one of the journalists at the local rag but I'm not sure if anything will ever be written about it. I've handed out flyers with details and links about Agenda 21 etc and while explaining to a women what I was raising awareness about, she snatched a page from me, held it close to her and said, "I already know all about this. I used to work at the UN." She practically ran away from me so I couldn't grill her. I've found many people who were receptive.

This coming Wednesday I'm going to explain it to a local group. I'm going to continue to explain it to everyone I meet and keep on explaining it even when I'm met with skepticism. I've had people walk away from me muttering 'conspiracy theory', but that doesn't stop me. We need to educate people and stop the indoctrination, especially at the schools. I have a friend who is very active in his church and I'm going to be meeting with him to set up a discussion group with his church members.

I can tolerate a few snarky comments. But what I will not tolerate is losing my liberty. The time for action is now.

Agenda 21 has been around since the 1920's in various forms, all rejected by the people until the introduction of the world bank, IMF and vested interest politics. Now they have free reign because the majority of humans are so enslaved to their ego's they only see today and forget there's a future ahead.

Nothing will be done as the probable future has already been installed and nothing can be done to remove or change it. Chaos, calamity and collapse are all that's ahead for the ideological human and it's happening now, everyones to busy waving their flags and following idiotic leaders into oblivion.

You don't sound rude at all, and even if you did, so what?:)))

But, Labour is being accused of being "extreme" atm and people don't like it, so if Abbott started spruking about 'Agenda 21' now I'm sure he'd be laughed out of office and tarred with the same brush as Latham. People just don't want to hear about this (the truth) because most can't get their tiny minds around the fact that 'their government' would do such a nasty thing. That's evidenced by some of the comments (not just the trolls) on this site alone.

Also, Abbott's most likely part of the A 21 plan anyway, he just goes about it differently... or should I say in a sneakier more 'acceptable' way? And I'm positive there would be those in the Lib party who think along the same lines, and wouldn't want Abbott to be saying anything about it at all. The less people know..... Labour / Liberal, there's not a real lot of difference and they both answer to the UN, we just hurt a little bit less under Liberal in the short term, that's all.

To understand what's happening in Aus, people really need to study Britain very carefully. When I first started mentioning the UK, people here told me to shut up as this was Australia and what happened in the UK had nothing to do with us. Little do they know.

Sadly I believe that's the truth of it all.

The most 'blatant' reference to that 'idea'(that I can find) was in the 1890's in a poem, would you believe?

There's always been a "plan" for the world and governments bank on people's ignorance to achieve that plan. Keep 'em poor and needy and divided and the goal becomes easier to achieve. Our school kids are being brainwashed at an early age for "acceptance" into a world of manipulation, and it's working.

A big Youth Group in Sydney (can't remember what they call themselves) presented La Gizzard with a individually signed petition of over 45,000 (school kids signatures) supporting her Carbon Tax. I wanted to jump into the TV and strangle the girl handing her the petition!!!!!

Remember the animated TV ad showing all the ice melting, polar bears dying, whales and marine life dying, no land water anywhere, grass and crops dead bla bla bla...? That surfaced after Gore's scam and showed for about a month before it was pulled. But that was long enough to leave an impression on young impressionable minds, and the minds of the dull and ignorant.
