didn't your 230m people get your @sses kicked by 1m timorese.
Sh*t - we'll just let our aborigines kick your ass. They got spears, and boomerangs.
thats not my 230 mil people.perhaps u should belong to them.

the east timorese didnt kick the indonesians shit out.it was a united nations effort because i played a part in it!if it wasnt for the U.N. sending troops there and keeping indo trooops out, they would most likely have taken east timor as in west timor.

your aborigines wont stand a chance, they would most probably be massacred and killed off as usual.the boomerang toys and spears would make good souvenirs to indo commandos then.what happened to aussies reporters there?they went missing and ended up very much dead in east timor with indo troops around.

save your own abos and leave them outa this blood shed that white dudes demand.......abos have had it rough when first white dudes came over to australia and gave abos a hard time!

agreed on the projection comment. although indonesia possessed large number of military personnel, our power projection capability is very limited, as the TNI itself was internally oriented.at present, we cannot fight on foreign land. our navy was rated as brown navy (littoral waters only) with no ability to land troops and support it afterwards, which is important if we wish to win a war in land separated by water. i.e. if we were to invade australia, such ventures would be impossible, if not downright absurd.

our air force itself is not capable of supporting our troops overseas, as we do not own any awacs required to support such kind of operation. furthermore, to be able to strike targets within australia's industrial base(where it hurts the most) we needed strike aircraft and escorts capable to be refueled airborne. sadly, the only tanker aircraft available in our possessions is KC-130 withdrogue-and-probe mechanism which only compatible with our a-4 skyhawks, Which renders escorts by f-16 and su-27/30 impossible, and therefore leaving them "naked" to be eaten up by aussie's f-18s.

but, i think the situation is still a no-go were the aussies to invade us, because although the aussies have some degree of power projection capability, it is somewhat limited. furthermore, 340,000 of 420,000 personnel of TNI were from the army, which meant LOADS of ground combatants which require no force projection capability to repel or halt austrakian advances. without the US, there is not much hope of aussies invading us. and the US will not help the aussies should they wish to invade indonesia due to certainty of China's entry into the fray. at present, the US and china is both courting indonesia concerning south china sea, and we were most likely remain neutral, which is beneficial to the political and military stability of the region. and that rules out alliance with australia.

so, my conclusion is: both countries are not likely to invade another's due to one single unavoidable fact: IT CANNOT. secondly, indonesian-australian alliance is not likely yo happen becausr it would force indonesia to be on US side, thefore alienating it's closer neighboring powerhouse: CHINA.

Military alliance with Australia will be a crime against democracy in Indonesia because it will striking against the voice of majority, after all we indonesian are monkeys in their eyes. I vote for neutrality, gain as much as possible (technologies, economic benefit) at the same time strenghten our defense capability and be self reliance. So when the WW III breaks out, we can isolate ourselves just like Sweden during WW II. We dont need the world, the world need us even at the time when we were very poor. Take a look on our soil, agriculture technologies, our medicine and our water. Everything we need both in peace and war time is in our own soil and sea. We just need to protect it with all we got. So, military alliance with Australia?? I give my midle finger to whoever wickedly proposing such evil idea!!
Addition: We have been always an important country for both west and east even long before the country born, enough with these westeners invisible hands that will suck us into whatever they want to and fuck us over and over again.

unfortunately my country Indonesia is a poor corrupt country. its growth just wont make up for all the mentality of its people. just read on the net, the corruption watch org has again lowered indonesia's ranking in their list and i believe it'll continue to go down after this. not with this many scandals wirth hundreds of millions of dollars in there that are left unsolved. businessmen prefer to do business in china and malaysia because its easier to set up business there compared to the bullshit bureucracy back home, because there everybody wants a slice of your pie you know. Even the political cadres want some, such as whats going on with the democratic party right now. Our military is not that strong either, the politicians again, embezzled the money to complete the ALUSISTA. how can you expect the military to defend their country if their equipments are obsolete because the money allocated to maintain it is embezzled by its own people?
public infrastructure development is very slow in there, so are the healthcare and education because of all the red tapes. Suharto era have seen a lot more growth than this bullshit 'democratic' era. the last time we built a train line was when the dutch was still in here. Last time we built a planned housing and community was when the dutch was still here. Now the rails have also become obsolete despite their importance, being reduced to a few lines in java and one line in medan, sumatera. others have fallen out of use such as the tram lines in jakarta and malang and solo set up by the dutch. all have been stolen and sold to metal dealers. and now we're left with 10 years old buses and vans as public transport and complain about it. its pathetic my country, a basket case full of backstabbers and parasites, thats why i left it the first i got the chance. now i live happily abroad :)

i never once regretted it

How about the Indonesian people? How many people would support this? I have problem with the mindset of some that underestimate the people´s aspiration in their analysis. Are we talking about Indonesia here or Malaysia?
