British Hong Kong (Chinese: 英屬&# 39321;港) refers to Hong Kong as a British Crown colony and, later, a British Dependent Territory under British administration from 1841 to 1997.
The British took a 99yr lease in 1899 of HK islands and what became known as the new territories which was all the Kowloon peninsular south of the Shenzhen river.
Democracy is not for lease you dumb ass. and as you can see,, the HKese want back their freedom, self govt, and become a proud Democratic country like Taiwan, Nth Korea, and Japan

Precisely, a "colony". Not an independent state with democracy. They were only awarded democracy at the last minute to sour the the return of the territory to the Chinese.

The HK patriots should wrap these mutterfkers in their Union Jack and bury them alive. These running dogs deserve no better than be treated as running dogs in Chinese land.

Yes, Chris Patten played the part of the "Caring and Lovable" last gweilo British Governor of Hong Kong.
Keeping the culture of "Divide and Conquer" ploy, he and his bosses back in London fermented to divide the citizens of HK just days before the Handover in July 1997.
The British NEVER gave Hong Kong people 'Democracy' during their 99 years British rule, but thought the HongKies should have "Democracy" when the territory are returnrd to the PRC.

"Divide and Conquer" concept.
This legacy of the British is evil and contemptuous!

They divided India into separate chunks just before they left in the 1950s. As you well know, the problems of the Indian-subcontient is still rumbling on.

The same in Africa and the Middle East.
The people in this contientent are still tearing each others apart, thanks to the Wesetrn colonialists'
"Divide and Conquer" ploys.

you really are a one eyed commie clone aren't you? HK was leased land, therefore not a British Territory,
As a sign of compassion and after 150yrs of solid British rule. HKese were offered a British passport.
You say you are a Brit. yet you say the British "soured the deal" by offering democracy to the HKeses. in other words, you are a paid scribe for the filthy commie's.. do you agree?

The "Divide and Conquer" concept by the colonialist British and French is not a figment of imagination.

This is already happening in Northern Africa.
The destabilty of the region (instigated by the French and British) now are giving them the excuse the long waited; to return and taking control of Mali.
They already recolonised Libya. The new puppet regime there takes order directly from London and Paris.

Under British rule, Hong Kong Chinese were second class citizens in their own land.

All the top Governement jobs were reserved for whites only.
Their cops were rakinging in the bribery money for the british Crown.
The best schools and hospitals were catered for the whites and Christians only.

Chinese were not allowed to be rich till the late 1960s.
No HongKie run Chinese company was allowed to be listed in the Hong kong Exchange till the 1960s.
Li Ka-shing was amongst the first tycoons allowed to participate.

Days before the Handover, the Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Group raided their HK bank vaults, and shipped billions (illegally) back to the UK.
With the illegal loot, they bought themself the UK Mildlands Bank, and subsequently moved the HSBC HQ to London, where it is today.

Of course even to this day, the British still own more than 50% of HK through their 'colonialist' companies such as HSBC, Swire Group, China Power, etc.
Many the colonialist companies built their wealth from opium, the lives and sweat of the local HongKies.

Compassion, my arse! The UK government went to a lot of trouble to ensure that the majority of Honkers were never allowed to get to the UK and take up residence unless they were rich. Only 50,000 (5%) of those who emigrated from HK prior to the Handover managed to get British Citizenship.

But you really are anally retentive about people working for the Chinese government which, as I have already stated, I do not and have never been invited to work for them either. I'd accuse you of being in the pay of the NED but I don't think your education or your IQ is good enough for them.

As for HK being leased, I see no relevance in the comment. 150 years of British rule and they made damn sure that the Governor could administer the territory during all that time without the encumbrance of democracy - how long had they had the vote in the UK?
