EU is already bankrupt, and you want them to add more on top of their existing problems? Let them solve the extraordinary problems which exists in member countries such as Greece, Spain, Portugal, Irland, Italy,…..and so on………first. Why to join an organization with so many deep problems? I believe the EU is going to lose some of it’s existing members.

True EU is bankrupt & the Turk's are back on their feet in a volatile region. The public opinion in Turkey is that "EU is a Christian Club & prejudice prevails over EU's extension policy". The polls in Turkey show that less than %20 are in favour of joining the EU, which is taken into serious consideration by the government. I'm puzzled to understand how Armenia will join the EU when its biggest trade, military, tourism etc. partners are rouge states like Iran & historically protectorate state Russia? It just seems like wishful thinking or propaganda material of the Armenian politicians but as a Turk I would very much like to see Armenia break the cycle of mis-government to take its place in the region as a western ally. There are 3 million Armenians in Armenia while more than 8 million living abroad. Unfortuantely foreign policy is dictated to the Armenian governments by the powerful Armenian Diaspora which looking at the population figures show no interest in returning to Armenia, while on the other hand pulling the strings without knowing the realities of its people & nation on the ground.

Hold on to your horses……if Turks fail to join EU, the only remaining option for them will be to look towards East, and who seats on their Eastern side? Oil and gas rich Iran, which supplies 60% of Turkey’s energy, and the Asian countries, including the big bad boy China! If sanctions are lifted against Iran, trust me, Iran will swallow up Turkey like a big juicy turkey sandwich! Besides, without NATO and US arms, Turks will be in a big trouble.
