On May 13, 2009 shock jock Bill Handel of KFI 640 radio in Burbank, CA ( http://www.kf i640. com/main. html ) suggested reducing the U.S. population to save the government money, and made a joke about starting with the Armenians and selling Glendale (CA). One person who heard this called and e-mailed to complain. The e-mail was read the next day on air and mocked again. But then the bimbo co-host said on air: "What the Turks started, Bill will finish." The clips were immediately removed from the Radio stations website but they were downloaded before they were removed and are available at: http://www.bu rbanka nc.org/KFI . mp3 (hear them make fun of our last names. It will make your blood boil).
It's one thing to make fun of Armenian nose, or chest/back hair etc, but making fun of innocent people murdered in the face of their descendants is totally inappropriate. As far as I know there are no apologies offered to the Armenian-Americans by either the host or the Radio station.
I don't believe complaining will get any results, but let's do it anyway. Maybe it will result in a fake apology, but hitting them in the pocket by withdrawing advertisement (many Armenian businesses, or businesses who do businesses with Armenians pulling out their ads) may send a signal.
