Actually, it has been filmed more then just the one time in Japan. Though I might be confused, it was definetly proved to be either the Giant Squid, named here, or possibly it's bigger cousin, the Colossul Squid. There is a couple frames of the sea creature in a show on the History Channel, called MonsterQuest. The experts who studied the video stated that the eyes alone were as big as an average size dinner plate, and the circumference of the tentacles were bigger then an average human males' waste. It's lentgth was determined to be as long or possibly longer then a schoolbus! WOW!

Same here. I do not read comments on news articles, with this one being the exception. Sure enough, 26 comments on a reasonably interesting article succeeded in living down to my low expectations.
