The responsible U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials should be charged as secondary murders, otherwise they will do it again and again whenever possible.

This is what happens when we hire a bunch of GED educated morons to do a difficult job. We need to take a closer look at what the Israeli's do with their equivalent of Customs and Borders protection. Those guys are not only trained to protect, they are highly educated in psychology and human behavior.

I am disappointed at the our gov't has not all they can in resolving this incident. First off it shouldn't have happened, second whoever was in charge that day at US Customs should have been fired, and third the US gov't should pay whatever settlement the parents want as a lesson to make immediate changes in how US Customs handles these medical emergency situations.

The government gives some of these clowns a BADGE and they think they're J. Edgar Hoover. The nurse should have been allowed to take the baby...how simple !!!!

The officers involved need to be held personally liable for this. The baby died, not because of bureaucratic procedure, but because of an individual's lack of judgement.

Some federal morons think paper work is more important than a baby's life. Our whole government is like this these days. Look at who is president. It's all a bad joke on us.

Someone should of given the customs a heads up that a baby that would need to be rushed to the hospital was coming thru. The mother and nurse (if the nurses' paperwork wasn't in order)should have been detained while the baby was sent to the hospital.

The person(s) who failed to let customs know they were coming PRIOR to them arriving should be held responsible.

My prayers to the mother and child.

This is outrageous. I am glad she did not settle. The workers at the immigrations department should all be fired and she should sue them individually as well. It's one thing to do your job but another when you discrimanate. It's always like this towards pacific islanders. May this poor child rest in peace. The painful part is that the mother has to live knowing she had the opportunity to help her son but another human being took away that opportunity. May you people who took away this young child's life never sleep well for the rest of your life.

Customs officials should be fired and held personal liable. We the people feel that this type of death is unwarranted and should not have happened.

Good luck in trying to sue the federal goverment. Even the plantiff is awarded damages..the individual employees involved will not be held accountable unless it can be shown that they violated a specific policy or procedure in course of their official actions.

Oh please. The baby was already ill Rushing it to Honolulu was a long-shot at best.

This is merely a Samoan lady seeing dollar-signs and thinking "Jackpot". This frivolous case has absolutely nothing to do with grief.

"Someone should pay"? Why? The paperwork wasn't in order, and the Customs Agents were doing their job. Competency doesn't matter - if all paperwork and arrangements were in order on arrival, none of this would've happened.
