Anti-semitism on rise globally: State Department

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Anti-Semitism, including government-promoted hatred toward Jews and prejudice couched as criticism of Israel, has risen globally over the last decade, the State Department said on Thursday.

"Today, more than 60 years after the Holocaust, anti-Semitism is not just a fact of history, it is a current event," it said in a report to Congress.

U.S. embassies have noted an increase in attacks on Jewish people, property, institutions, and religious facilities in the last decade, the report said. Read more

i wouldnt be surprised if outside jewish influence convinced Bush to go to Iraq, Rumsfeld already said on tv durin an interview that Bush just walked in one day n said he wants to go after Iraq... im sure georgie didnt think of that all by himself...

why does the worlds strongest nation allow itself to be controlled by a small state somewhere in the Mediterranean? the so called "aid" that our gov gives to Israel every so often could be better used on our own homeland!
i dont see why our "leaders" think that the Israelis deserve our money more than we do! what have they given us thats so great?

its stories like this that pushed me to visit the middle east. i was tired of hearing stories on the news, the middle east cant be THAT bad if millions of tourists still go there annually... ive been to the UAE, which is just amazing!!! and there is a HUGE foreign population there, thousands of americans work there and are happier than back home!
after U.A.E i went to Qatar then Lebanon, Syria and now back in Lebanon... i did want to visit Darfur but we where strictly warned not to...

i just have to say that back home, people are liars, no wonder anti-antisemitism is on the rise, everything they tell us is BULL SHIT! Lebanon isnt a nation ruled by terrorists as they claim! in fact, Hezbollah is only really present in the poor south areas. Lebanon as a whole is a beautiful country, and not even as dangerous as they make it out to be!
i always ask for directions, and i have a strong southerner accent but people dont care, they answer me in english with no problem! they are really nice people, Ricky, Liz n I always get invited into peoples homes for coffee and Lebanese sweets (very delicious!)

i do encourage people to visit these nations for yourself, dont believe what you hear, its not the 1st time the gov/media has lied to us and wont be the last time...

as for me, summer is very near and i am eager to experience the Lebanese summers, which i hear is amazing :)
