Unfortunately I do not believe Assad nor his experts as he has cosmetically put together information in the past that was not true. Also he says the military was surrounding Houla, if so why did it not act to stop it, his lies are consistant.

I think by noon tomorrow, Assad will have the opinion of the Rebels from both camps

Unfortunately the reports from the UN Observers influenced the UN to condemn Assad and as well influenced many countries to oust the ambasadors of Syria because of the report. I do not believe for a minute that the UN Observers would tell anything but the truth.
As well the next day Assad started shelling the town again while he was supposed to be sending an investigation team to get conclusions. He says in this article, armed gangs did it, well I agree however the armed gangs belong to him. If this article was true then why shell the city again??

BEIRUT – The swaggering gunmen operate as hired muscle for the Syrian regime, clutching rifles and daggers as they sweep through towns and villages, sometimes after regular military troops have pulled back.

Recruited from the ruling elite's Alawite sect, the pro-regime militiamen known as "shabiha" are believed to be carrying out some of the most ghastly attacks of the Syrian uprising, allowing President Bashar Assad's government to deny direct responsibility for the crimes.

The U.N. says there are strong suspicions that pro-Assad fighters were responsible for at least some of the carnage during a weekend massacre in Houla, bringing fresh attention to the shadowy fighters who appear to be taking on a bigger role in Syria's bloody conflict.

Survivors say it's the shabiha.
It's a nickname this Alawite goon militia received as shabha is ghost in Arabic.
It a shadowy group of pro-regime fanatics who apparently deal in drugs and numerous illicit operations.

Avenger, I think it is very importants for allies to draw the wagons in a circle to hold the fight in the centre of the circle and let them fight, we know they are going to but neighbors must let it be clean and even and just get it over with. then on with the healing and putting the coutry back together.
