I level a proportionate response to those who chose to insult people oposed to guns.
I have no dificulty in using a gun I just dont see the need for them in a society of suposedly grown up human beings using them as a cure to all their ills instead of trying to focus on fixing it's problems.
Bloodletting of the moment is the total oposite to which I seek, you have not followed the brief here!
Violence in my land isn't handled with vigilante type violence, it is handled with adequate and apropriate law enforcing responses as deemed necessary, we enable the processes we need to keep our society functioning at the highest level possible to keep it's citizens safe.
Rape in America is the highest unreported crime because it is believed that it is too personal to report or that the victim fears the assailant might return and extract revenge....No such a problems in Australia and out of 123 countries listed as the highest accounts of rape, Australia is a lowly 121 on that list...America is at 58, so though we have a way to go our incidents of rape are being decling without the need for guns thank you very much.
"I have no dificulty in using a gun I just dont see the need for them in a society of suposedly grown up human beings using them as a cure to all their ills instead of trying to focus on fixing it's problems."

But that's not what you utter in your follow-on comment:

"Violence in my land isn't handled with vigilante type violence, it is handled with adequate and apropriate law enforcing responses as deemed necessary, we enable the processes we need to keep our society functioning at the highest level possible to keep it's citizens safe."

Is a woman defending herself and her children against rape and murder to be seen by yourself as a 'vigilante?'
The citizen in the U.S. is the first line of defense. The cops are essentially reporters with badges, who show up long after the assault.

"Rape in America is the highest unreported crime because it is believed that it is too personal to rep"

Where is your proof of that assertion? Or are you, yet again, resorting to your typical emoting and false statistics?

But that's not what you utter in your follow-on comment:
A: Firstly and I find this so common with certain Americans who misinterpret the written word so ofter....My actual meaning for "I have no difficulty using a gun is" if I wanted to use a gun I am able to in regards to IQ and the physicality of learning to use one.... I don't because I hate them....do you get it now Doc, sigh!

A: Oh please, can we be a little bit more specific and use less emotional bullshit....why don't we get rid of the threat of rape and she wouldn't need to defend herself?

The citizen in the U.S. is the first line of defense. The cops are essentially reporters with badges, who show up long after the assault.
A: And that is working so well for you as I am sure that most people feel safe just knowing that you are all out there and about with your guns...I know I would! LOL

"Rape in America is the highest unreported crime because it is believed that it is too personal to rep"
Where is your proof of that assertion? Or are you, yet again, resorting to your typical emoting and false statistics.
A: Seriously Doc just google it, the info and statistics are there for everyone to see, else I wouldn't have made you look so stupid with such ease and confidence, the reason I did was, because I googled it!
Now the reason I know our rape rate is well below the majority of other countries (123 of them worldwide) is because.....I googled it!...I didn't simply rely on you for the truth...lucky me eh!

Good point?
I don't think so.
Labelling all gun owners as idiots does not make a good point.

Still seems a little ignorant to me Ahomana.
Just because someone owns a gun they don't need it doesn't make them an idiot.

No doubt there's a few people out there that could be classed as idiots that do own guns & don't need them.
There's also idiots out there that own guns & do need them, occupations etc..
The number of idiots in Australia who don't own a gun far outnumber the number of people who own guns but don't need them.
Banning idiots would probably be a better solution.

But again: You are projecting. Because, as you declare, you think you have no need for a gun, then everybody else should neither.
You don't, and cannot, live anyone else's life for them. Therefore, any thought by you to make determinations in those lives is nothing less than crass interference in some which you have no business in.
Ahomana wrote:

Again: You project. Just because you see 'no need' it does not follow that there isn't a need. What of the upwards of 2.5 million times each year in the U.S. where a gun is effectively resorted to in self-defense? Do those not count? Would you rather there be 2.5 million more casualties of violence?
Ahomana wrote:

Yes, yes. Australia is such a perfect place where violent crime is virtually nonexistent. The official statistics however, paint an entirely different picture.

Let me get this straight: It's okay for you to dictate to others, but not conversely so?
That, in and of itself, identifies you as a control freak, and a very frustrated one.
You think you have the right to dictate to all others against their will.
Now, you didn't get back on my question to you: If you were given the power to force someone else do something against his will, would you do so if you knew you could get away with it?

"AURORA - A serial rapist may have tried to strike again, but a woman shot at her would-be assailant before he could attack her.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. Tuesday, in an apartment building near Dayton and Parker Road. It's the same neighborhood that a serial rapist has terrorized.

The woman says she heard her blinds rustling in her living room and got a gun. She sat up in bed with the gun, and when the man entered her bedroom, she shot at him. She missed, but the blast was enough to make the man take flight.
The serial rapist is described as a black man, standing 6 feet to 6 feet 3 inches, and weighing about 200 pounds. The man also is said to have a distinctive scar on his nose.
The series of rapes have been linked by the man's DNA and description.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Aurora or Denver police, or the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Department."
