Do the actual math yourself. Or is it to much for someone to ask you to actually do your own work rather than post the same old junk over and over.
I know I actually looked up the numbers and did the actual math.
OK.

Volume of ice in Greenland ice sheet: 2.85x10^15m^3.

Area of oceans: 3.35x10^14m^2.

If all the ice melts, you get 2.85x10^15/3.35x10^14 = 8.5m sea level rise, not taking into account extra land swallowed up.

Simple my clownish friend. First you look up the amount of ice in the icesheet. You can find this with any search engine and while your at it you can look up how much water it is as well. Then look up how much water is in the oceans. Add the amount from the icesheet and compare the two numbers. Notice how small the difference is.
And for fun look up how much water the oceans loose to evaporation. Or how much water is locked up in little plastic bottles so you can compare it.
It's not the percentage that's important- it's how much that extra water would add to sea level.

A few metres is a tiny fraction of the depth of the ocean, but it's hugely significant to human beings who have to live on the land next to the oceans.

Which came first, humans or oceans?
OK, it was a silly question, but let's face it, we don't rule the oceans, in fact we have to respect them, go with the flow and move on when they get angry.

Easy for you to say on your mountaintop; less easy for the people of Holland, Bangladesh, Florida or New York.

Yes, it's very easy for me to say and it always has been.
When I lived in Southend-on-Sea, I always thought it was a bad idea to live at the bottom of the hill, just to have a nice sea view of the Thames Estuary when it's safer up the hill.
1953 proved I was right.
There's not much point worrying about people who choose to live or were born near to water, let them decide when it's time to move to higher ground.

Sure, those 20 million people in Bangladesh can just move.

Can we assume you'll be inviting a few dozen to your mountain hideaway?

Standard non-answer. I didn't expect you to be able able to backup your wild statement.
Why, because your just to lazy to bother looking up the facts for yourself. Now if I provided you with the numbers then how do you know my numbers are accurate. This way you have the data that you found to verify what I said.

Of course the real truth may be that you do not want to look up the information because you know what you will find. That I am right.

You missed the shore like gradient. And the fact that the volume of water is not the same as ice. Hence the reason why ice floats. That it displaces it more water than it weighs.

But congrats at least trying to look up the data. That was more than Bozo bothered to do.

Don't exaggerate, you know damn well that not all of those people will ever have to move, most of them will have died from natural causes before anything untoward happens.

Even easier for a young scientist who wastes his time on Topix forum with misplaced empathy.

And if you managed to end up with meters instead of milimeters then you misplaced a decimal point.

He would have misplaced two decimal points, but he didn't, he's well aware of the metric system and meant to say "A few metres."

Which is why the actual estimate is 7m rather than my ballpark 8.5m.

I didn't know we were taking up "sides". BTW, I don't put much stock in 'Wattsupwidthdat". Anthony does not present science, he just presents opposition.

Oh no, how dare Anthony be opposed to alarmism.
