The Islamic jihad trying to topple the Assad regime in Syria is an anti-western terrorist organization. What more would you expect from...?

When you gather intelligence for Moscow or any nation it is a very risky business, maybe Putin will authorize that battalion of marines he placed at the Russian navy port to try a rescue. Ukraine has team alpha; very well trained professional force but I imagine their too busy protecting the Ukrainian president. He did recently authorize the deployment of antiaircraft weapons and troops to his mansions so I'd bet some kind of intelligence report issued a real threat warning. Funny I look at the leader of Canada and he has what two RCMP members detailed to shadow him. I suppose when your corrupt you need all the protection you can get eh! When your not you don't need to look over your shoulder.

So you support the decapitation of female Ukrainian journalists by Islamic radical terrorists? What does this suggest about you... and about the Obama administration?

Amazing how many terrorist apologists throw out everything they learned while raised in the West and become atavistic barbarians at the drop of a hat.

Truly amazing.

Don't expect the "orange" Ukrainians to do anything. They just crank their mouths open about a free Ukraine and then go along like a donkey with a ring in its nose for Washington.

It’s not just Ukraine. Several former East European countries, such as Poland and Checks Republic, are competing to be at a service to the U.S. I guess they just like to cling around the 'Big and Powerful’, which is not of their kind. Inferiority complex at play!!!

You are correct, however not for the purpose you think, they are there to pick up Russian citizens and keep them from harms way. They are trying to do it carefully so as not to show their loss of faith in Assad but at the same time saving the lives of Russian citizens.

It's called extraction. I would think that Russian naval port is essential to the arms sales to Assad from Russia and China. With the people's army of so called rebels dominating the battles lately and setting up check points all undelivered arms will be extracted with any sensitive Russian assets like satellite communications, intelligence gear, probably the bulk of the marine battalion ect... They made their money now its time to re-establish relations with a future government by not posing any assets that had helped Assad. If I'm wrong and Your right with any Russia decision to mass forces you'll see a confrontation with the US Medeteranian Fleet leaving the Russians out gunned and NATO providing additional assets. I don't believe Putin is that brazen or foolish. As for the hostage much like the rescued NBC fellow a simple bargaining chip for a prisoner exchange all sides have their chess pieces to execute would show a lack of leadership, control, purpose and a hint if feared savagery that resembles Assads methods. That hostage will fetch a handsome exchange of prisoners, unlikely to hear exact details for a long time.

If they wanted to kill her she would have been skull shot in the first hour of capture. Bargaining chip for high valued prisoners. Russian rescue attempt would destroy any future diplomatic relations with the future Syrian government because blood will spill and these Muslims hold hard core jihad grudges. Every analyst in Putin's regime is probably saying stay out period. Nothing spells Jihad like an untimely terrorist attack at the Winter Olympics. Or that naval port getting bogged down in suicide attacks. Even a replay of the USS Cole, Russian style.

Ah, so if her captors are killed in a firefight and she's freed, we'll see the heroic details on CNN?

Yeah, right.

CNN is a government controlled media outlet much like Fox. Every country has them. Nothing new. You don't think Putin's regime manages the info highway? I've always admired the BBC, takes a good batch if reporters to rat out their own Prime Minister causing the loose link to blow his brains out. Plus BBC goes past the troops and keeps it real, they loose reporters though... Risky business. As for the hostage, prisoner exchange mark my words.

I'm sure they are carrying things which can be a lot more potent than just troops!
